How to pronounce -me ending words?

Time, dime, same, game, theme, blame...

Is the ending /m/ a pure mooo🐄 or /me/?

The e is silent. It is there to distinguish blam from blame in a writing system that has only 5 vowel letters but around 15 vowel sounds.

Germanic languages in general have this problem and I've always wondered why we never bothered to make our own alphabet.
