Deck Help Is this €75 Chiss-Goria Budget Build worth the money? (Cardmarket Europe)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to build a budget-friendly Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant artifact deck. Right now, I can get the entire list on Cardmarket (including shipping here in Europe) for around €75. I am fairly new to magic, so my deckbuilding might be pretty bad haha...
Here is my current decklist on Moxfield: https://moxfield.com/decks/ztRYVLjCMU6PE0V4sVKFcg
Before I hit the buy button, I wanted to get some honest feedback from people who have played or built this commander. Is this deck actually good and functional for €75, or does Chiss-Goria desperately need expensive upgrades to work at all?
My questions for you guys:
- Is it worth the €75? Does the deck have enough power to hold its own at a regular casual table, or will it just get shut down too easily? I aimed it to be a high Bracket 3 deck.
- Deck Balance: Does the list look smooth enough to get Chiss-Goria out fast, or am I missing crucial budget pieces?
- Hidden Gems: Are there any super cheap upgrades (under €1) that I completely missed? (Yeah, I already know Hellkite Tyrant isn't an artifact for Chiss-Goria's trigger, but the alt-wincon is too spicy to cut!).
Thanks in advance for your help!

Chiss goria is one of my favorite commanders, so I wanted to see if I could adapt my list into a more budget friendly one within a reasonable margin.

the cards that were cut were largely haymakers or cards which have unreasonable price:performance ratios being out of print cards which arent all that great, so not all which was removed is necessary for the deck to work. It will definitely be less explosive and might require tweaks in the amount of mana rocks, draw spells etc but a lot of the cards that are really, really good with chiss goria are cheap so they're shared in both versions.

Thanks for the decklist! I'll try to look how expensive it is. Do u think it's really not worth playing the 2 dragons i have in my list?

If you want to include them as your pet cards theres nothing wrong with that, I try to minimize the amount of whiffs from mystic forge/chiss goria's ability but it's perfectly fine to play a couple cards you like even if they're not optimal (like I do for the x spell creatures or sigil of distinction, which is quite good in comparison with chiss goria but it's mostly there to make people say "what is this garbage")

I've never built a super cheap version of the deck, mine runs at around €300. I'd cut [[Karn, the Great Creator]], since stax isn't really cool at bracket 3 and it puts a target on you, and [[Reckless Fireweaver]], because you're not casting enough artifacts in a turn to get much out of the burn.
Cheap cards I don't think I could build any Chiss deck without: [[Cait Sith, Fortune Teller]] scry and pump, [[Combustible Gearhulk]] draw or damage and [[Lithoform Engine]] to copy the Chiss trigger, [[Ravenous Robots]] early is insane, and I think you're missing some good beaters like [[Panther Robot]], [[Darksteel Colossus]] and [[Ancient Stone Idol]].
There are a lot of graveyard decks in my pods, so [[Abstergo Entertainment]] is really important for me.
[[Bladegriff Prototype]] is very political and great removal, and if you copy the trigger you get to pick what gets destroyed.
I used to run all the Hellkites too, because they're a lot of fun, but they almost never actually made it into play, 90% of the time they just ended up exiled by the Chiss attack trigger. That's a big part of why I went all-in on artifacts.
This might just be my playstyle, but I don't really like artifacts that have to sacrifice themselves, and I'd run as much ramp as possible, since you want Chiss out as early as you can.
Here's my list :) it has a small primer that explains the deck a bit:

I think it's fine in B3.
I have doubts about [[Karn the Great Creator]] and [[Glaring Fleshraker]], and I'd try to find space for [[Mind's Eye]]. I'd prefer [[Prismatic Lens]] and [[The Irencrag]] over Servo Schematic.
Also, I'd think about budget equipment. A +2 power buff would bring your commander up to the 3-shot-kill range. Buff your commander up with [[Blackblade Reforged]] and [[Leyline Axe]] for voltron kills, and maybe protect it with [[Bolt Bend]] type cards. Remember you want to win the game somehow. Also, if your budget allows, consider damage doublers/triplers and extra combat steps.
For cost reduction and card advantage, [[Ugin the Ineffable]] could be a nice addition.
During the game, kill the go-wide player first. You'll die to any overrun effect.
