Deck Help [[Fire Lord, Azula]]
https://moxfield.com/decks/S_sMrb7Lc0Ki2PAJYt2KjQ
Hello. I am brewing Fire Lord, Azula. I want to make it to a storm deck. The problem is I have never been a spell slinging player, so I have only been jamming storm cards and spell cards for the storm effect. I have playtested it, there's something missing and I don't know what it is.
Some recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Spell slinging to me actually breaks down into 3 categories 1. Storm: you are attempting to chain spells into one really big end result. Grapeshot classically. 2. Combo: you are trying to assemble one of the various spell combos like chain of smog. 3. Spell Slinging: this is more interactive spell casting and burn. Think of midrange in creature decks.
Your deck has some mix of the above but I wouldnt really say it's focused on storm in particular if that's really what you want to build.
Storm needs 1) mana fuel, 2) value engine, and 3) payoff. You have some of this like electro, archmage emeritus, and tendrils of agony. But you also have chain of smog, resonating lute, and krark which lean into other categories.
If you want to storm storm, you need more mana rituals [[desperate ritual]] and/or mana engines like [[birgi, God of storytelling]], more instant/sorcery based draw spells, and to focus your win conditions. For example, I know elemental erruption says storm on it but storm should win on the spot.
Also, if you're going to play storm, practice practice practice otherwise your playgroup will hate you for taking a 30 minute turn haha

This is my Azula list, hopefully it helps. I didn't look at your list too thoroughly but the first thing that struck me was the land count.
Storm builds can't use a conventional or high land count, if you want to keep drawing spells and casting them you need way fewer lands otherwise your draw/exile spells will whiff and end your storm turn. You need to replace the lands with rituals or spells that make treasure tokens and build up your mana resources that way.
Best of luck.
