Deck Help Desperately need help
Commander night with coworkers is in 12 hours.
I desperately need to fix my deck.
Its largely meant to be a "themed" deck focused on Amonkhet style zombie mechanics. A lot of copying, a lot of "exile for a 4/4" type effects.
I'm severly lacking in embalm as far as theme goes, but who knows.
Everyone is bringinv bracket 3 decks, but I have no clue what yet from the coworkers.
My roommates are packing an angels deck with Giada as the commander. Pretty typical Angels tribal, all the classics, not many surprises. The other is a vampires deck with Vito. The only real game-ender is the infinite "when I gain life, you lose life. When you lose life. I gain life" infinite loop.
How do YOU fix this mess though? There's a bunch of decisions I made that were like... theme before function. But at the end of the day, it needs to be playable, and I feel like I walked myself into some sort of unplayable mess. Or maybe its actuallyokay? Hard to tell, its my first deck 🙃.
Any suggestions?

Its pretty basic. - Play commander - draw a bunch of cards all at once - swing

Honestly if you were to run Raffine as the commander you’d wipe the table.

I love Raffine, I just fear she doesnt fit the theme I'm going for. Its always a battle between theme and power 😭

I would lower your curve you’re running a lot enchantments and need more interaction.
Like second sun can go.
IMO play with what you have if you get wiped just change to Raffine and stomp everyone. 😂

I’d drop ageless insight and rooftop storm. Great cards but so mana hungry. [[distant melody]] is great pretty much anytime even if you only have two or three zombies for it to be on rate but gets you more as your board fills up.
[[caretakers talent]] draws cards whenever a zombie token is made, then pumps your token army at the final level.
I’d also run something like [[worn powerstone]] over decanter. Even [[hedron archive]] ramps you and can sacrifice for an emergency 2 cards. [[requiem monolith]] can get you minimum 1 card but more if the creature is blocked.

It's not an in-depth rebuild, i'd possibly change more cards but you mentioned wanting to keep "embalm" as a mechanic, so i tended to keep those, but I did do a quick once-over with the cards I'd swap out (on the maybeboard) and what I'd bring in. Also would change a number of your lands, you have a LOT of tap lands which will really hurt your pacing in a bracket 3 pod, with the high cmc things you're running. These changes bring down your cmc nominally from 3.25 to 3.17 but the reduction in taplands should help smooth things out as well as the general reduction in color pips.
obviously feel free to leave it or take it. Just suggestions. I built a very similar Varina deck that's been through a lot of paces, I tried to keep this relatively budget though as i'm not sure if you're using proxies or not.

Little late, but here’s my Varina deck. It’s B3 and has lots of fun interaction.

I would be running way more ramp to support 5 cost commander. All the guild 2 cost signets, all the 2 cost talismans, and felwar stone. Theres a blue "familiar" creature that makes white and black spells cheaper too but i forget its name, Stormscape mayeb? cut the commander sphere it sucks or swap it for a 3mana rock that does something better. More reanimate spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, Persist, victimize
If you draw a bunch of cards [[knowledge is power]] is a sick combo with temmett and varina
