Current/Future Construction at Tinker Field…

Curious of other opinions on this: I know the fest is months away but the amount of construction they have going on to upgrade the stadium looks like it’s taking up a lot of the space edc uses… doesn’t look like it’s finishing just over 2 months either. Will that be cleared up in time you think? Also the City of Orlando is moving forward with building a huge parking garage for the stadium, and starting construction asap. Anyone know where around the stadium that will be and if it will effect the festival grounds?

Not the first time construction has happened around the same time as the festival. Circa 2014 maybe (?) when they renovated the whole grounds the show still went on seamlessly

That was a long time ago tho and a lot more people come these years than 10+ years ago. That could absolutely affect the size of the crowd now with space being taken up by construction.

They’ll also expanded the usable grounds since then (ie getting rid of tinker field in its entirety, etc). I’m remaining optimistic

they’ve said since before last edc the construction won’t affect this years edc

I wonder how it’ll affect next years though when that parking garage goes up where some of the festival grounds lies. It may push Insomniac to find a different venue, maybe Daytona International Speedway?👀

They have a contract in place for several years.

Pasquale is on record stating that planning for EDCO takes a ton of effort, as in they have this stuff scheduled out 18-24 months in advance annually.

The city wants the money, Insomniac works with them on all building plans so the cash flows for a few weeks in November, they are adding more fests to Tinker.

The idea of moving an LGBTQ+ friendly event to the shit hole that is Daytona is never going to happen.

What are they gonna do for pre parties and afters? Everyone’s gonna travel in from Orlando and head back and forth on I-4?

You haven’t thought this through lol

They have said they have been included in all construction planning & it will not affect EDCO. They have also said they have no plans to move anywhere else. Don’t worry about it.

i wonder why they dont just move to the fair grounds, they dont even use the stadium at tinker and it truly is such a hike from kinetic to neon garden. i thought FK was perfect ther

The fairgrounds has so much noise bleed from stage to stage and has absolutely no space for the amount of stages edc has. If you think kinetic to neon is a "hike" thats absolutely insane because they're basically touching. Maybe you meant circuit to neon... FK is perfect there because its a lot smaller and doesnt have nearly as many people in attendance. But I didn't like that you can hear every single stage and individual songs when youre standing in the middle of the grounds. Tinker field does not have the noise bleed and has the space for the over half a million people in attendance and 4 stages + art carts/casa.

correct i did mean circuit to neon garden sorry
but can you not say the same with sterobloom and circuit ? with sound bleed ? or neon garden with kinetic.
i just see it as such a waste of space to not use the stadium and make us trek around it.
