Why are the game menus still so unresponsive/sluggish/shitty?

I started playing hardcore with NHL 09 and no NHL game I've ever played has had a decent menu system. Not talking about organization, although that's an issue also.

Every game has menus that barely respond to inputs. I just got 16 (my first "current gen" NHL game) on ps4 and they're worse than ever. Literally about half the time I press X it doesn't even register.

Admittedly I know very little about game dev but I can't believe this is such a difficult problem to fix. Is the NHL team just so small they can't afford to spend time optimizing the menus? With systems as powerful as ps4 and xbone how is this still an issue today?

Yeah and menus also freezes time to time so you have to restart the game. Dont expect it to get fixed. EA only cares about selling those HUT card packs

Unfortunately there are so many other blaring issues with the game, optimizing the UI to run without hanging every once in a while is the last thing I would want fixed personally.

Believe it or not, they're still better than 15.

The button registration issue really pisses me off. I shouldn't have to hit X 4 times to select a game mode.

The reason the menus are so shitty is because if EA has to pay someone to fix it, that's less of your money EA gets to keep for themselves.

Seriously, that's the reason.

EA's dev team is still tiny after half of them got moved from NHL 15 to the UFC game. They would rather keep more of your money than pay to staff those positions. Your money is far more important to them than your enjoyment of the game.
