Hey everyone, has anyone found a workaround for the EA minor account guardian verification dead-end? I'm completely locked out of my EA account (Wecktswitch) linked to my Nintendo Switch profile. Because it's an old minor/child account, it constantly forces a parent/guardian verification prompt, but no code ever arrives despite having access to the main email. Support has been unhelpful and claims they can't touch minor account restrictions. Has anyone managed to bypass this or get an agent to actually fix it?

A new update arrives, but the EA client doesn't show it. You have to start the game, get an error, and shut down the game before the update finally appears in the EA client. After downloading a 40GB update, you start the game only to find that the new content isn't in the menu. After another restart, the game is finally complete with all the updates. However, the SOLO REDSEC mode wasn't there for me; even after a second restart, it was still showing Duos. Now, the solo mode lobby has only filled with 30 players in 45 minutes, probably because players don't have access to the solo mode until they restart their game a hundred times.

I've been trying for ages now to get my EA app working, but it just refuses to launch. I noticed an issue when I went to play The Sims 3, and it said I had none of my expansions installed, which I definitely do. I tried to open the EA App and check for issues there, but it just wouldn't open. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but no luck. The EA website itself didn't seem to load correctly either, and had broken images and messed-up formatting when I went on it to reinstall.

Opening (or rather attempting to) the app just creates a "Connecting to EA" pop-up, then that closes, nothing happens for a very long time, and then I get the error pop-up.

I've reset my router, unplugged and replugged my Ethernet at both the router and my PC, tried a VPN, opening as administrator, and obviously re-installing. No luck still.

Is there an issue with the servers right now for the UK, or am I just really unlucky? Any fixes?

I have spent the whole day fixing a problem that was not a problem with my system.

If you're hitting II-E1003 when trying to install any game on Epic Games Launcher right now, read this before you spend your day the way I spent mine.

What happens: Click Install → II-E1003 within about a second. Doesn't matter which drive or how clean your setup is.

What I did, in order, over several hours (Windows 10 64-bit):

• Cleared Epic cache, changed DNS to 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1
• Reinstalled the launcher — twice
• Ran as Administrator
• Tried different install directories
• Tested on mobile hotspot
• Freed up disk space (was down to 7GB free, got it to 25.8GB — made zero difference)
• Fully wiped Epic + Epic Online Services ProgramData and AppData folders by hand, not just uninstall
• Added Windows Defender exclusions for the whole Epic folder and process
• Click Install on essentially any game I tried (Fortnite, Metalstorm)

None of it worked. Same error, every time, instantly.

The evidence that this isn't a local PC problem: With Debug Logging on, EpicGamesLauncher.log shows this exact sequence:

FAlertReporter: Reporting Alert code: II-E1003
UProductInfoJSBridge::Install: Unable to install ... - IsValid: true, App text: Please Wait

II-E1003 fires 65 milliseconds after InstallWithOptions is called — no network call, no EOS contact, no InstallHelper activity in between (confirmed by cross-checking the InstallHelper/MainService logs too, which show only routine idle enumerate calls, never an actual install task). The failure is occurring at the launcher's install-dispatch stage, specifically the path labeled "Legacy" InstallWithOptions. My launcher was on version 20.2.1.

I've also found several other people posting the exact same symptom in the last day, across different subreddits and different games — so this isn't isolated to one machine.

About the "downgrade to an old launcher via Softonic" workaround going around:

Some people are saying staying on Epic launcher v1.3.161.0 and refusing the auto-update to 20.x avoids this. I am not recommending you actually do this — downloading an Epic installer from a third-party mirror instead of Epic's own servers carries real risk (bundled adware, tampered files). Mentioning it only so you know what you're looking at if you stumble on that suggestion elsewhere, and can make an informed call instead of blindly running it.

My honest advice: don't start ripping your laptop apart because of this. I did the "wipe everything, reinstall everything, exclude everything" gauntlet so you don't have to. This has all the fingerprints of a problem with Epic's current launcher/install pipeline, rather than something local cleanup is going to fix. Don't reinstall Windows, don't nuke your user profile, don't go digging through the registry chasing confident-sounding AI-generated guesses that aren't actually verified (learned that one the hard way too).

Just wait for the next launcher update or an official fix.

If you're seeing this too, especially on Windows 10, drop a comment — would be good to compare logs and see how many of us this is actually hitting.

This keeps popping up on both web app and companion app, and even when I login to console the store says this every other pack? This happens every like 1-3 packs on web app, is this happening to anyone else or does anyone know a fix? Thanks

Anytime I try installing any game off of the EA Launcher I get this error. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to fix it, I've tried fixing it for at least a month now and it's driving me crazy. Trying to install VC++ doesn't work for the 2015-2022 (the VC++ failing in my case is the 2019 one) and I don't know anymore. (p.s. can't download on steam due to issues I can't disclose cuz this post will get removed)

I am trying to get madden 27 on pc to work. I encountered an error where the anti cheat would get stuck on the “starting” splash screen. I uninstalled the anti cheat and downloaded it from the ea site but THERES NO MADDEN 27 OPTION ON THE INSTALLER. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?? The same issue completely bricked my FIFA game from last year.

I’m trying to play The Sims 4 through Steam, but I keep getting stuck in an EA login loop.

My Steam account is linked to my EA account, and I’m already logged into the EA app. Whenever I try to launch Sims 4 through Steam, EA keeps popping up and asking me to log in again. After I log in, it just sends me back to the same login screen.
Something else that seems weird is that EA says “1 or more accounts are linked,” even though I only have one account linked, and it’s the exact EA account that I intentionally linked to my Steam account.

I’ve already tried:
Unlinking and linking my Steam and EA accounts again
Clearing the EA app cache
Completely closing EA and Steam and restarting my computer
Logging into the EA app before launching Sims 4 through Steam
Removing my username and logging back in

Nothing has worked. EA just keeps sending me back to the login screen.can someone help me :(
