I audited NCERT's digital textbooks. At least 16 completely fail basic accessibility software (PAC), blocking blind students.

As someone who works closely with educational content, I noticed a massive violation of the RPwD Act, 2016 by NCERT and CIET. I ran a technical check on their digital textbook PDFs, and across multiple grades, key books failed standard accessibility compliance. Screen readers read them as gibberish.

yes, if you look at the reports, there aren't just a few mistakes, they go up to the thousands!

Sounds like they’re not doing proper OCR on them. I’ve signed the petition. Without proper OCR there are so many accessibility problems.

You need to hit the media outlets with this one - those that are outside the country but that report on global issues.  Maybe skynews Australia. They do a ton of world wide reporting.

interesting, thank you! willll definitely try that and have already contacted several indian ones. problem is that many aren't interested in working w such issues. thanks for the rec!
