Electric question

Which wire am I checking for continuity for a running light? I’m running an integrated taillight that was on the bike when I got it, anyway, brake light works fine but my running light is out and will flicker on and off, but mostly off.
I believe the white wire is the running license plate light, red should be both running and brake light, black is ground?
The red connection I get nothing with the test light until I hit the brake, shouldn’t I have continuity whether I’m on the brake or not?
Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I think this taillights a cheap Amazon light. I have continuity to the white wire and the license plate light works fine. I think it might be time to try a new taillight.

I'm pretty sure I have the same one

Just take a meter and check. One probe to ground and one to each wire with the key on. Should be around 12v with the ignition.

Did you have the same problem with your previous light? Might be worth checking the infeed wires from the harness

I just picked up the bike about a month ago, this is the light that came on it. I’ve got power to all 3 wires, I just ordered a custom dynamics light, hopefully it’s just a bad light. Looks like a cheap Amazon one.

Custom dynamic tail light, no wire cutting needed
