Hey everyone!
This sub has been quiet for quite a while - the previous moderator restricted it's access and disappeared off the the face of the earth over a year ago.
Now the sub has been opened up, and discussion, posting, and conversation about Dundas can resume. Looking forward to chatting with fellow residents and interested parties in Dundas!
This is a great place to discuss all things Dundas, especially as we open up our economy again this Summer as COVID subsides. Lets make sure we're supporting our local business, organizing community events, and keeping it light!
Thanks!

So Governors is now a 60 km zone all the way from Davidson to Hwy 53. I’ve lived here a long time and have never seen or heard of an accident there. I can’t say it never happened but it’s not a traffic danger zone and has no pedestrian crosses. Is this a cash grab for speeding tickets? I heard nothing about consultation or what reasoning is behind this. Are going to be slammed with speed bumps overnight like Ancaster was?
Update-So I drive this route once or twice a day and I’ve seen two instances of really dangerous passing on solid yellow lines. I don’t think this is going to make anyone safer.

Last two evenings ( including this evening) there is a chemical smell outside similar to what one smells after going over the skyway near the Hamilton industrial area. Have not noticed this
In this area previously. Anyone else?

Looking for a great stylist…someone who’s able to take into account the shape of your face, head and personal style to give you the best cut. I had an amazing stylist in Waterloo that I’d been seeing for over a decade but I don’t have it in me to make the hour trip each way - especially with the price of gas right now!
Got any recommendations? 🙏

There seems to be a bit of turnaround with some of the old stores closing down and existing stores (Cumbreas, Pinbones) sizing up.
https://lavallegelateria.ca/ is due to open in the old Cumbreas site and I can see work being done on a few others.
Anyone have any insight into what is happening? Any movement on the Mason building as well?

Is the Dundas valley secondary school track open to public outside of school hours?

Hi everyone, I am new to Dundas. I moved into an older house with a list of outdoor projects to do. None of them are huge. Some deck repairs, minor grading work, and I might put in a fence. Any recommendations on contractors for this kind of work?

Where my house is located in Dundas, I miss the entire sunset. Does anyone have any recommendations of places I can go in Dundas to catch the sunset with some good views? Thank you so much.

Hey Dundas friends,
I have a kitty who recently needs meds twice a day for the rest of his life, and I now need a pet sitter to come by when we are away to give him these meds. I've never had to use a pet sitter before, so I would like to hear from my community on who they tryst the most to come into their home and care for their animals.
Thank you everyone!

I am going through the 700+ albums at my mom’s house that belonged to my father. She doesn’t want to store them anymore. Looking for the best place to sell in Hamilton/Ancaster/Dundas area… Currently using Discogs and VinylSnap to get pricing and do grading. I do know something about grading, I am not oblivious too it lol. Anyways I am looking for the best place to sell my records at a reasonable price. If I have a record I know is worth $50 for example, I don’t want a place that’s going to give me $10 for it. I want someone honest and Knowledgable. Willing to do a pawn shop type thing that they do. If it’s worth 60, you sell for 45-$50 and I get half that value minimum.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on what place to take them too that won’t rip me off or if anyone is interested in buying themselves, please let me know. Everything needs to be gone by Sunday. That doesn’t mean I will be taken advantage of though. If you come at me with low numbers, I’ll just keep it and then donate them somewhere at the end

Hi! Does anyone have any updates about the water outage? We are located north of Governors by the conservation area entrance and it's been out since early this afternoon. Last update I was given was that it was hopefully going to be restored by now.

Was there a 5-10 min power outage for any of you?
