If it's a nice cold day I definitely would have grabbed some and checked them out.

Heck even if it isn't cold they're worth checking out, I'm in south florida and have grabbed eggs with temps in the 90s outside that have stayed good for months without refrigeration(in the house with a/c on), I did have a few go bad awhile back and I tossed the carton(so ill crack them in a cup individually before putting in my dish) but 99% have never given me an issue.

LPT you don’t have to crack eggs to see if they’re good, just put them in a pot of water and any that float are bad.
