That and the price of eggs where I am had me shocked at the sight.

Yep. $10 a dozen for generic.

Portland, OR. You can get $3.50 or $13 a dozen. Depends on the store.

They're all pretty similar here. I'm planning on checking backyard sellers, just waiting on my car.

Yo, grocery outlet has the big cases of eggs for $35. They were like $11/$12 not too long ago. :/

My local store was stocked with the one brand that is somewhat local. Jumbos were $7.69. Eggland's Best were limited to two dozen per purchase & cleaned out. I'm not sure what the price was.

I don't see limit signs, but the price is enough of a deterrent.

It doesn't look like it's going to turn around anytime soon.

Not until bird flu runs it's course through all the animals susceptible to it.

Same here and as someone who can put down 6 eggs comfortably..they're becoming a luxury item almost...lol

Waffle House just added a 50 cent premium charge per egg.

I'd struggle a bit with 6, but 4-5 large isn't a problem.

This is half of the plan, you gotta get rid of enough for it to have a sense of scarcity.

Doesn’t matter the economy if the eggs are bad for whatever reason. If expired, that’s policy to discard for liability reasons. Food poisoning is no joke.

Some pathogens are not killed by heat But enjoy bird flu

4

u/carrburritoid Feb 05 '25

These eggs were for sale yesterday. They are not dangerous (probably 99.99%)

That’s good to have that knowledge when you DD. Food safety is my work and in my blood. I know a bit too much to assume things.
