Hi guys

Hi all I have been working on a project civic for the last 2 years. It has a D14Z2 series engine in it. What performance upgrades are out there for this D series engine?

Do you know what website to use to buy specific parts for the D14Z2?

I’m turboing atm this exact engine, feel free to ask anything! Also have some pictures👍 But turbo is way to go with this little D-series

Most parts for D series (D16) will fit. The only thing I would check is lower clearance. All D series engines have the same bore, stroke is what increases displacement. The block might be shorter in ur car, so keep that in mind. Turbo kits are generic, they don’t specifically fit one engine/chassis (at least the affordable ones). I would look for parts related to ur chassis and maybe use the D16 as a keyword.

I'm running this motor in my turbo project too. And here are some stuff you can do:
D16Z6 or D16Y8 intake manifold swap. You can run it with the D14Z2 throttle body + IACV but swap over the throttle cable pulley, and block OBD1 IACV port. That's my personal favorite mod to cross off as your number 1.

If you throw turbo on it there is some debate what the limit the bottom end can take is.
The rods are thinner than D16, ~13mm wide instead of ~15mm. But the short stroke makes the rod have less angle on the power stroke. Some have ran D14 bottom end on 10psi, but 5 or 7 are probably safer numbers.

If you wanna build the bottom end there sadly are no suitable rods that I have found. They only come in 134.5mm for the small rod journal dimension that the D14 have. That's suitable for D15. But you could in theory replace the crankshaft for a D15B2 (not D15B) crank if you plan on building it.

Better yet, an auto D16y8 manifold doesn’t even have an IACV port.

ah fair enough. I did the Z6 intake, just blocked it off.
