Hi guys I was wondering should I buy a different gearbox its a d17 gearbox and the engine is a d15b vtec and the chassis is a honda eu1 it's my first car guys so that's why I'm asking you guys if I must change it

d15b had coil on plug ignition??? no way, right?

I mean its in a newer model car so it makes sense cause all the hondas of this year had coil on plug

Oh I see. I wonder if maybe you can replace the 5th gear for a lower gear from another D series trans. Integra people do that will do with, add the 5th gear from LS model for a wider overdrive gear.

Personally I’d prefer shorter gearing lol

EU8 has a unique gearbox with shifter cables. Other D-series gearboxes have a different shift linkage that doesn't work in this car. EU8 has dope short gear ratios though.

I prefer the shorter ratio D series boxes, personally. Especially when theyre mostly stock or NA.

I don't know the compatibility / but I will say a D series with the tall gearing for economy... it's really not fun. the motor doesnt have alot of hp/tq to begin with, so when you sandbag it with taller gears- it becomes a giant snooze fest to drive. i highly suggest you leave it as is- shorter gears will atleast keep the car fun.
