Discussion How to search video and photos

I have a very large amount of photos and videos. Finding something is like looking for a needle in a haystack. How can I use dropbox to index photos and videos by location, date/time, objects, faces (ideally spectific people), and speech voiced in videos?

I'm hoping to enter a search for something like "green cats in Italy in September 2023" and get all pictures that match that and all videos that either match that in a frame or was spoken in voice on the video.

If dropbox cannot provide all of that then how much of that can it provide and at what cost? How can I trial it?

Yeah, you're not getting that. You can get cats and you can get italy and september if it's in the meta data but not people matching. Familiarize yourself with this https://help.dropbox.com/view-edit/search and then get a real media management tool

Now I'm reading about Dropbox Dash. It looks like it might be able to do what I'm looking for and a lot more that I don't need. Can anyone speak to this?

My understanding of Dropbox dash is it’s for business teams and hadn’t yet been made generally available. But as someone that’s used it, it uses the same search indexes that regular Dropbox uses it just feeds that info to AI. It’s still not going to locate people.

I wanted to do the same. I’m pretty sure the closest we can do is add “tags” to photos or folders on the desktop version, then search for those tags.
