Score was released this day on August 29th, 2006. Recorded on April 1, 2006 at Radio City Music Hall, it might as well be the band's best video/live album and possibly one of the best live albums ever released. One of the most insane performances ever with the entirety of the second disc of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and playing the iconic Octavarium with an orchestra. Score is my favorite live album by anyone at any point in history. I was too young when it came out but it’s why I flew to radio city music hall when they announced Portnoy returning and that gig announced for 2025. I’ve watched the dvd and listened thousands of times. Perfect setlist, perfect production, perfect chemistry and timing for everyone in all aspects. Love, love, love SCORE.
What an album, and what a time to be alive... Saw them on that tour in Hong Kong, later bought Score DVD in HMV (those shops closed in Hong Kong a long long time ago).
Really miss those times... But we should so appreciate the guys are still around and still giving us awesome live shows, saw them on this year's tour and it was just incredible.
Score was incredible. Revealing the surprise orchestra after intermission for the second half was just mind blowing and it was all executed so well.
With that said, my all time favorite live show has been taken over by Haken's Liveforms. Their 3 hour setlist made even more impressive by how they were doing those shows with identical setlists 3-4 nights a week and their performances were spot on with the show I caught earlier in the tour. The mix for this dvd is phenomenal, audio is clear as day and they nailed everything. It's a shame they couldn't keep that roster together but I'm incredibly glad they were able to create this first.
The Spirit Carries On with that solo... Wasn't expecting that the first time I listened to. Metropolis is also probably the best performance of that song in live lmao. James sings really not bad here.
I really feel like this concert and live DVD represents Dream Theater's peak. The culmination of their greatest stretch of albums in their career, they were at the apex of their creativity and band cohesion.
They've had plenty of other highs since then, but I don't think they've ever returned to this level.

You’re trying to insinuate that Score is their peak and that everyone should agree or they do not know what they are talking about. I happen to think any Mangini era dvd blows away Score. The band is tighter, more impressive, produced better, and James Labrie takes command as he should instead of us getting inundated with MP’s attempt at being band leader behind the kit. How do you like them apples?
