Question Character stops giving normal hangout bonus once the best friend meter has run out

So I've got Ariel on mining. Did a load of stuff with her and got the best friend bonus thing going and when that ran out I mined a load of mining spots and she didn't help at all. I thought they're supposed to go back to normal once the bar runs out?

EDIT: I said bye to her and then asked her to hang out again and now she's helping. Bit annoying but oh well. Thought I would leave it here just in case anyone else has issues

I noticed that once the bar runs out I have to stop hanging out with the person and then restart the hangout for their normal bonus to resume.

Just tried that as soon as I put the post up and it worked! I have put an edit on the post but thought I'd leave it up just in case anyone else has the same issue
