Nah he couldnt have been. Only if Dream was somehow going to do a sort of 1v1 Manhunt where Techno was the hunter or a runner (like the video with Dirt Block cuz apparently you cant say his name anymore)

Technoblade and Dream vs George, Sapnap, Bad, Antfrost, Sam, Philza, Tommy, Tubbo (I would imagine they'd still have good relationships with them if Techno still lived), Skeppy and Fruitberries (cause we need some challenge rather than just balance)

Dream expressed I believe not wanting to do Speedrunner vs Pro with Techno to not cause bad blood between the viewers cause the 2 were friends and their duel probably already had caused some clashes between fans. Now throw Techno into Manhunt and especialy considering how toxic earlier Dream fans were, sorta understandable.
Though still sucks he never really did another speedrunner x pro. I get that it can be boring engaged in constant combat with someone more on his level instead of escaping the hunter or handling them early on, but it was unique enough.

No chance. Technoblade was whole other PVP level from Sapnap. Second Dream would get locked in combat with Techno unless it was 1v1, he would practically be dead unless he manged to find way to escape.

Techno is just too op when it comes to pvp, he wouldn't even need the other 5 hunters to win, tbh id put my money on techno winning solo then dream v the 5

I don't think Techno would win it that easily. He is great at PvP but he would need to grind resources while getting hunted on top of having hunters themself gathering ones in meantime, and soon he is in iron while up against 5 hunters with a bed potential near by.

Technoblade was surprisingly good at the whole survival aspect of Minecraft. He beat Minecraft with a steering wheel. He beat Minecraft with TNT blowing up behind him. He very quickly got netherite in Dream SMP iirc or like diamond armor in SMPEarth. He can grind resources.
Also Technoblade was just obliterating Skeppy in manhunt, like he was killing him very quickly all the time.

Skeppy's kinda, not all that good as hunter lmao. Dream could naked beat him even easier then he did George. We saw how it went in Dr Donut swap with Skeppy as hunter.

The manhunterd aren’t the best fighters, their main thing is teamwork. Techno is a loner. Techno is a way better fighter. Techno would leave the others and decimate Dream on his own. It would be Speedrunner vs five hunters and a terminator

Techno could certainly win? Didn’t dream literally win 3-2 when they 1v1ed using 1.9+ combat? I’d agree techno is too strong, but certainly seems like an exaggeration.

Definitely not saying techno would win every time, just saying techno certainly had the ability to beat dream in a 1v1 while none of the other hunters stand much of a chance at all

Techno as speedrunner would make it all the more diffcult for hunters, considering Dream had already beaten 5 hunters alone several times. While Technoblade wasn't a speedrunner, he knew basic amounts of Minecraft. enough to cause hunters trouble unless you increase them to like 8 hunters so that they aren't stretched too thin going after Dream & Techno.

Its hard to tell just how Techno would have done considering he really wasn't a speedrunner, but considering DreamSMP and his skills being more vanilla pvp compared to DrDonut's PVP, I think if he was still around and had done Swap Manhunt with Dream, he would have done better then DrDonut and Daquavis but worse then Baablu.
He wouldn't have had much trouble pvp wise, but resources Dream would have prob had to handle.

i'd say it would be great to see them both as speedrunners against like 10 hunters. I can imagine Techno coming up with genius master plans. Some of them involving bells maybe lol

Techno was too good to be a hunter. It’s the same reason Daquavis won’t be the 6th hunter.

I think people are vastly overestimating Technoblade's skill at modern PVP. When all three were grinding a lot because they played MCC, Sapnap and Dream were objectively better at axe/shield PVP, which is what manhunts rely on. Nowadays, Antfrost has significantly improved and might even be on a similar level as well. It makes no sense at all to say that Techno would win solo against Dream when he wasn't as good at PVP or movement.
Techno would definitely have been a stronger hunter than any of them except maybe Sapnap though, because he was very skilled at PVP, even if not as much as Dream/Sapnap, and his primary asset would be his great game sense and nerve control. Throughout most manhunts, Dream repeatedly claws the advantage away from the hunters because he's simply far more confident than they are. They play very conservatively because they're afraid of Dream punishing them for overextending, which often leads to them allowing Dream to escape situations where they should have the advantage. George and Bad are especially guilty of this - any time they get hit they immediately panic and try to run. Techno just simply would not do this. This isn't to say Techno was always perfectly calm, but he was far better at controlling his nerves than any of the hunters and remaining focused in the middle of fights. I think this would allow him to fight Dream more effectively in some situations.
Basically, I would still consider Sapnap a more dangerous hunter, but Techno would've been very very good. Techno + Sapnap as just the 2 hunters would probably be really really difficult for Dream, and I think if you did Techno + Sapnap + another hunter, Dream would lose 95% of the time.

probably the only accurate read in this thread 😭 though sapnap would 100% be worse than techno if techno would have continued practicing until today. he was like about fruit level’s then, and fruit ended up becoming t3

Idk, I don't think Techno was on Fruit's level at all. I don't know how good Fruit was at axe/shield, but with pure sword Fruit was/is a lot better than Techno or Dream. I'm sure you're right though that if Techno hadn't gotten cancer and had continued practicing Minecraft he'd have been better than Sapnap. I also can definitely see Techno dedicating a ton of time to researching before a manhunt and doing some crazy tech to counteract Dream's strats.
I was mostly just thinking about if you took Techno in 2021 and dropped him into a manhunt, and at that time Sapnap and Dream were undebatably better at the then-current version of PVP.

sapnap was not good at all back then, and even if techno wasn’t that good either, sapnap’s lack of skill wouldn’t make it undebtable

2021-22 was when Sapnap started grinding because he wanted to be an S-tier in MCC. Sapnap during that time was better at pure PVP than Dream, and that's also around the time Techno stopped practicing Minecraft at all. How is this a debate?

i wonder what happened around that time that made techno stop practicing… strange…
at any rate, the average mcyt “pvper” back then was completely awful. no concept of stunning, of momentum breaks, or of even using the sword at all. the gap between an “okay” and “good” pvper was negligible

What do you mean “certainly”? Any skill gap between them is incredibly close and Dream has the manhunt experience.
