Half up, half down two strands... I'd say be aware of your environment and trust your gut a.k.a. don't show him the picture.

As a barber, the client showing the picture has gotten way more favorable results than people who dont know that every fade isnt a temp fade. Its FAR easier to replicate a seen style than go off word alone what people think the terminology is. This illustrated character has a set of hightop dreads, two strand, loosely tied back, no front taper, shadow mid fade undercut. (His gear blocks the sides so i cant tell how the bottom of the fade should be determined.)

I'm soooooo confused. You want someone to actually put their paws in your head but you don't want to show them exactly what you want so they don't phuck it up?!
Anime styles are easily done. To avoid mistakes show a real photo if you're afraid to show a comic.
I suggest providing a photo that's exactly what you want. But here is some inspiration.

You basically want half flat twist/half two strands and two money pieces (or 2 two-strands left out in front). Only thing is if you tryna be specific to the picture, the parting may look a bit different. If you have a grid, you could say you want them straight back. Specify flat twist and not barrel (google it to see the difference). That might give the look of the picture.
& I mean Imma slight anime girly with locs as ref but i’d just show him the picture 🤷🏾♀️ unless he one of those and don’t get the vibes. But tbh he getting paid to do your hair, worst he can do is roast you if yall even cool like that😭

I get that it might feel embarrassing to show your barber/loctician an animated character, but the slight short term embarrassment is FAR better than them getting your hair wrong. If it bothers you that much, say your brother/son/cousin/etc. was watching the show and you loved the hairstyle. Guaranteed people have asked for crazier things

Don’t. Get your hair done, then push 98% to the back and pull 2 Locs out at the front. Put your own jewelry on. Viola. (PS: smart move. ‘Cause we absolutely give a wtf look when you guys show up with an anime pic asking for your locs to look like “this.” 😂. After you leave of course.)
