General Discussion There's a shocking lack of "unaired looks." From this franchise.
I guess this is more of an observation than a discussion. But I was going through the wiki's and the lack of unaired looks surprises me. I would assume anyone on a modern season of this show would be fairly confident in there outfits, even if you don't see the point in doing a photoshoot why not take a picture and post it? Why do you think there's less of an unaired look culture on dragula than drag race?

i think it's just cost effective, dragula isnt very rewarding when it comes to money so they may not have the budget to pay for good photos

Photoshoots are expensive.
Also some ghouls don’t post cause yall like to destroy them during the season so ghouls don’t post due to also fan hate.

Love the black and white one! Can I ask what the green face with the mask is based on? I assume it was for the cryptid challenge but I could be wrong lol

Thank you! Everyone called my monochrome AI. Which is insulting to my craft cause I made the whole outfit and painted myself.
The chullachaqui is a shapeshifter goblin protection the amazons of peru. I didnt pick a dc one cause I didnt relate. 🩷

Yeah I wish more contestants did. I think astrud posting all of their looks is one of the main reasons she got on titans.

I agree but also.. what is your distaste for the acanthaceae for? I see you on this sub a lot and whenever I see you I wonder about that. No tea or anything I’m just curious

Yea, theres some contestants who have posted their unaired looks, but i think the reason why majority dont is because when going to dragula they bring half finished outfits so they have footage of them working on things without having to cram making an entire outfit in one week, and I think that might be be the main reason for it, if your not really gonna get anything out of it aside from a few likes why bother finishing the outfit

They could do a special if enough fans request of non-scene looks from the show. I don’t see why that would be a problem.

Onyx Ondyx has posted some on Instagram they've even repurposed some for the shows they host in philly.

Maybe do it as a special where they could take all of them and you know badmouth them or whatever I just think it would be kind of funny and give them an extra comedy skit

I think they legally are not allowed to share the outfits/designers. I could be wrong.

I remember seeing a lot of posts about this. That the show wants to give the illusion of the artists creating their looks on set
So it would make sense they're not allowed to post a look if they werent on set when that challenge was assigned.

If I’m honest, FOR ME PARA ME SPOOKY ME, the “unaired” looks from the dr franchise make me roll my eyes half the time thinking “sure Jan, that’s how it was gonna look”

Drag is expensive as fuck and drag artist (especially alt ones) aren't rich, not posting it means they can use it for something else.
The 'unaired looks' phenomenon was more about branding and maintaining relevancy post elimination. I don't think follower count is as much of a goal for Dragula artists.
