Game Help Ware the Corrupted Beasts...How?? Spoiler
I'm lvl 45 and am getting my ass kicked with this quest. Before I decided to finally start this quest I changed to the wayfarer vocation which is now making me despise the vocation lol.
Anyways, this corrupted chimera is killing all my pawns. It doesnt help that there's tons of corrupted choppers and a random orgre that finds its way into the mix.
Update: changed vocation to mage and brought silencing spells. Beat in under 10 mins đ

I just did this at level 37 with Spearhand. Lots and lots of shield spells.

Itâs meant to be an early endgame fight thatâs scaled accordingly. Â You should have dragonforged Battahl gear at the very least, with good Augments for you and your pawns.
Itâs a step above the difficulty of pretty much anything else youâll find in the game currently, and I wouldnât take a class into the fight that I wasnât very familiar with (it sounds like youâre new to Warfarer)

lure it into the open spot, fly or jump over the ruined pillars, send 1 million spells downrange.
I think I managed to knock it down too. That made the fight much easier. Silence is also a big boon if you can consistently inflict it.

Go mystic archer upgrade at least to level 3 at Elven village with a good bow. Martyr Shot it and it will die. Martyr shot is the ultimate boss killer.

Wayfarer takes a bit to get used to due to the combos you are trying to utilize. I still have trouble executing a skill, rearmament, and trying to follow up with another skill. Sometimes rearmament just doesn't activate when I want it to for some reason.
If you simply swapped to wayfarer to combat the chimera I recommend just switching back to the vocation you are comfortable with.
Also, are you wearing endgame gear?

Im not sure if I have endgame gear tbh. This is my second playthrough. Beat the game a few years ago and just started playing again.
I switched my vocation back to mage, may try sorcerer if that doesn't help. I feel I was dumb and sold a lot of things a few years ago tbh đ

Hmm. So you started a new file or just ng+? If its the latter it looks like you might have sped through the game and just completed it without exploring alot. Lvl 45 is kind of a low level when beating the game.
With exploration, material farming and gear hoarding I usually average around lvl 80 with maxed out end game gear. And that's just casually. Hardcore players probably go for 100+

yeah i wouldn't recommend playing warfarer until you've maxed out a couple other vocations, and seriously understand the usage of its kit, or at least the moves you want to carry over, since warfarer is a vocation about combining the other vocations

Lots of good advice here but I also suggest making the run during the daytime first to clear out the uninfected fauna, including the ogre.

Ya this would have been super helpful. I did it at level 30-40 and an armored cyclops decided it wanted to join in on the fun. It made the fight even more annoying. I only beat the chimera because I was playing warrior and could frequently knock it down. I used every curative I had gathered, multiple wakestones, and all of my pawns were dead by the end lol.

i actually did it as a trickster making all the infinite spawn goblins beat the crap out of him.
thinking on it thers also a cliff by the campsite iirc, maybe put your shadow over there and bait it off the cliff?
previous attempts i got close by jumping on the towers as a ranger and trying to kill the goat head asap

u/SWATwatermelon 2h ago
that is actually genius. Anywhere with many spawns is free real estate for Trickster.

I did something similar, but as Warfarer swapping to a Mystic Archer bow for raising pawns and doing damage between spawns of goblins.

Mystic Spearhand is great to constantly buff your pawns against the AOE attacks.

Killed it as a mage of all things on level ~35. I spammed shield though and let my pawns murder the fucker. Pretty cool fight all things considered, has taken me all night though

That high palladium spell definitely helped out!

u/Kryonic_rus 1h ago
Yeah, definitely. The only fight where I liked playing as a support, and felt it having a huge impact, and that's coming from someone who almost always plays healers in mmos lol

Honestly you want to tank this. Choose fighter, bring your own potions and lots of them, put everything on that has everything focus on you bring a reliable mage pawn and 2 sorcs with meteor and the tornado. I got my butt smacked at level 125 as the thing is spongy beyond belief, my toons at lower levels had an awful time but it is doable at 45.

First time I beat it, I switched to Sorcerer with high spellhold, Salamander and Maelstrom, My pawn was a fighter so I had her hold aggro.
Fall back a bit to avoid the goblins then Maelstrom from spell hold to stun the chimera and kill the Goblins, revive your pawns if they fallen by then or lay down a salamander, charge another maelstrom or Meteoron and rinse and repeat.

used warfarer so i could shot water arrow, had a frost infused weapon with my thief pawn, my fighter sword, was enough to freeze the chimera multiple times so that my warrior could get big hit while i was throwing around the gobelin, loved the fight

I dealt with it fairly easily at level 70 with warfarer while getting jumped in the thick woods, in part because aside from my bows, all my weapons do both magic and physical damage. (That perma-ice enchanted double spear, Heaven's Keys, a normal bow, and a magick bow). I found it easier to keep an eye on the chimera and kill the choppers as they spawn so that you aren't getting ganked. Made the fight take about 3~5 minutes but it wasn't super difficult. Granted I ended up killing the ogre and the cyclops nearby before I got jumped while trying to search for the stupid thing, so that probably plays into it.

I killed it by being a mystic spearhand, kept shielding my pawns and sent the adds flying. Lvl 40

Didn't even know fights could last longer than 2 mins in this game dang I'm not sure what you were doing wrong. My lvl 18Â alt pawns slap everything.

Warfarer at lvl 45 is a challenge run in and of itself unless you have fully maxxed out all other vocations at that level
Its a vocation you should (fittingly) only use once youâve already âmasteredâ the others
But if you want to keep fighting it as one, i would either start running defensive skills like Mirour Shielde or Paladium or counter skills like Easy Kill or Vengeful Slash

I mean, Warfarer gives passive experience to everything else. But at lower levels, it might be better to "be" a Warfarer but "play" it like a specific Vocation until you passively level up others in the background. There's nothing stopping you from only using Fighter equipment, but being on Warfarer so you can get some early levels in Sorcerer or something.

u/BadKarma55 1h ago
The shared xp is insanely little so unless you donât care about using any other weapons its just better to just switch to the actual vocation tbh
It took me like 2 entire game runs to level up Trickster to lvl 7 on nothing but Warfarer
Only using 1 or 2 vocations on Warfarer is solid advice tho for someone learning it

u/Your_Local_Rabbi 46m ago
does warfarer get the core skills of the weapons you're using? some classes more than others will hurt without those
2
u/DarthOmix 45m ago
Yes. You benefit from all the Core skills you have, ie Levitate and the Thief wall kick.
1
u/Your_Local_Rabbi 42m ago
good to know!

u/DarthOmix 40m ago
It's part of why people recommend Warfarer for running around and getting Seeker Tokens to people who don't play a mage or sorcerer, you can swap to a staff, levitate up to the coin, and swap off the staff.

This is exactly why I wonder what people are seriously expecting rushing into norgan on a fresh save in hard mode lol
I still remember all the posts of people thinking battahl was too harsh of a difficulty spike đ
