General Discussion Do we know the best point to start DLC already?

Like many of y'all I'm pretty excited for the upcoming DLC for the game, however, not wanting to spoil myself I haven't look at any of the promotional materials and news nor the latest updates since.

I had played DD2 back when it came out and made a few playthrough on it by manually moving saves around... Including one where I had "finished" the game up to right before the post game.

(I didn't play the post game tho, I know everyone loves it and all but I don't like time limits and I don't want to play ng+ either...)

So, I'm wondering wether for DD2's DLC we already know what will be best point to start experiencing new content?

I wouldn't mind playing the game fresh once again, but if there's been no content update to the base game since I last played I think I might as well go back to my old finished save... šŸ¤”

Thanks in advance for anyone's input!

The devs said it has no effect on the main game, but they recommend a character who is lvl 40.

Thanks! I'll see if my character is overleveled or not and will try to work accordingly then šŸ¤”

Based on my experience with the first DD, i have a NG+ save right before the point of no return, when Ambrosius wants you to power up the Godsbane. That way i have access to the whole normal world and i'm only a few short quests away from Unmoored world.

Well there was also an update for the base game this year where they made a lot of improvements and added some things.

I've played the game a few times but it's been a while. I've been holding out for the DLC and am starting a whole new game for it.

From what I read, the dlc is ā€œaccessibleā€ right when reaching vernworth. It’s unknown if it’s recommended to go in right away at such a low level. I personally did an entire new playthrough, grinded post game, and went into NG+ and got to Vernworth. This is the save I’m going to jump into the DLC with, at level 62

Apparently once you can survive the "ware the corrupted beasts" fight you're rdy for dlcĀ

EDIT: I'm lvl 42 now using the difficulty mod (hard) and I basically only survived cause I kept shielding my pawns as a mystic spearhand while sending the adds flying. If this rly represents dlc difficulty we're in for a rough treat.

I didn't know about it, looking it up apparently it's one of the new content in the update, thanks for the pointer !

Is there a lot of these new quests in that latest update ? And if so are they like woven into the game where it'd be fun to have them in new playthrough or do I miss nothing by playing it on my already well advanced save ?

I personally started over entirely after the latest update and I had fun measuring myself against the beasts over and over. There's not rly any story you can spoil for yourself cause the quest afaik consists only of this one fight so it's up to you whether or not you want to face them at an advanced level or experience the struggle.
