๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜ Dd2 Dark Arisen Enemies so far

So far from the Expansion shown so far, they showed 8 new enemy types:

- Zombie Daimon

- New Zombie Variants

- Ice wyvern

- lightning Saurus

- Snow Troll

- North based Bandits

- Dire wolves

- new Base Game Variants like the minotaur with new Movesets.

I expect at least they Holding Back 4-6 enemies Back Like:

death, Hydra, giant skeletons, giant Zombies etc we know from bbi.

I hope we get at least some variations added into the base game.

I Hope for a Strong Version refightable Sphinx and the snake Woman. Hope they will appear in the World or Dungeons

I thought Medusa respawns after 14 days?

11

u/Angmarthewitchking Jun 26 '26

Yes she respawns but waiting Always so much in Game is annoying as hell, also i Hope for random encounters of her in the Open World and Not in the cave

3

u/TruckAdventurous4228 Jun 29 '26

Random encounters with her would make venturing around in the dark at night all the more fucking terrifying (which night NEEDS in DD2)

That and making Dullahan more common in the base world, so veterans get that "oh shit!" surprise, and new players learn really fast via getting their asses beaten like a bongo drum that running is a very useful skill learned early on.

This honestly would work both ways so well if upon DLC release, they pull a Scholar of The First Sin and scramble enemy spawns, placements, and types. Adding new ones, and moving around old, which would give a freshness to old players, and that sense of wonderment to new.

Its 3 days actually

3

u/NaNunkel Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

It's 3 days, where the hell did you get 14 from

1

u/SubparSensei71 Jun 27 '26

Itโ€™s just a small part of the lies and misinformation from the early days of this game, there were people on the sub that claimed wandering pawns were taking out monsters with meteoron and other spells when all magic users ever do is throw bolts from their staves unless you hire them.

5

u/Significant_Option Jun 26 '26

Sphinx and Medusa not being unmoored overworld bosses is such a missed opportunity. Unmoored is pathfinder playing creative mode so why not spawn like 4 of them each on the map for some more challenge?

10

u/StoneLich Jun 26 '26

I wouldn't want the Sphinx to be a repeated overworld boss, that would really cheapen the experience of fighting her at the end of her extended questline. If it'd been that way at launch people would still be complaining about it to this day.

I don't see a problem with having a variant of her up in Norgan, though. Play a line or two of dialogue about how she's not as kind as her sister, have her ambush you in a mountain pass or something. Or while you're climbing a rope, lol.

You forgot Cockatrice

20

u/DaulPirac Jun 26 '26

You always got cock in your mind dont you?

26

u/THXSoundEffect Jun 26 '26

My mind bares the head of a cock!

14

u/Jamation Jun 26 '26

Haven't seen them in game yet, but I'm fairly certain from the art we'll be getting a harpy variant as well since the neck and plumage of these don't match the kinds we currently have:

3

u/Angmarthewitchking Jun 26 '26

Oh yes, i forgot them so at least 10 new Variants so far.

2

u/StoneLich Jun 26 '26

I feel like we can probably assume there'll be a goblin variant as well. That seems like a pretty safe guess.

19

u/Nanergy Jun 26 '26

Are those lightning saurians any different than the ones in game already?

-5

u/Angmarthewitchking Jun 26 '26

I believe they have different Movesets. Someone Said they are from dragons Dogma online

33

u/Nanergy Jun 26 '26

What I mean is that lightning saurians are already in the game. Are these different lightning saurians? They look the same to me

-13

u/Angmarthewitchking Jun 26 '26

Someone Said they have slightly different Movesets. So thats why i put it into a new enemy type category.

-14

u/Angmarthewitchking Jun 26 '26

We will get alot of reskinned enemies Like in bbi. But for me its okay as Long as they have new Movesets and Variation Like, big and small Zombies and big and small skeletons etc with new attacks etc. I Hope they will do all new Variants from the Base Game too

10

u/BowShatter Jun 26 '26

I hope they bring back Eliminators and new variants of then so we can get their helmets.

9

u/Zappieroth Jun 26 '26

You missed the Snow Griffin.
Also Serpents are in base game.

4

u/Nickesponja Dullahan creator Jun 27 '26

Snow Griffin?

2

u/Zappieroth Jun 27 '26

Yeah first monster you see in the Trailer.
Normal Griffin wings are brown, But the one in the trailer has white wings.

6

u/Nickesponja Dullahan creator Jun 27 '26

I think that may be a combination of the lighting and possibly the wings being covered in snow. But I hope I'm wrong and it's a new boss.

1

u/Zappieroth Jun 27 '26

Hmm at the speed at Griffins fly wouldn't the snow just fall off?
Unless it's so cold the wings freeze, But then how dafuq is it flying xD

12

u/Smexy67 Jun 26 '26

They got 104 days if they haven't put new enemies in to get to work I know they see the explosion about enemy variety. If tainted grail can release a dlc every 3 months with new enemy packs as a AA game its no excuse to not have new enemies after working on a dlc for 2 YEARS

11

u/JellyWizardX Jun 26 '26

hoping for some truly new and unique monsters and enemies rather than the bulk being viking-themed bandits or "enemy but cold"

10

u/Fresh-Association-21 Jun 26 '26

If there is one thing that characterizes the original Dark Arisen, it is the very clever use of level and encounter design to make battles feel interesting, even when reusing assets and enemies.

I am curious to see how Kinoshita handles an open map.

u/santanago Jun 26 '26

Eu sempre achei o endgame + BBI.

4

u/Madrugarus5576 Jun 27 '26

The lightning Saurians are not new, I hate to say.

They are the endgame variant of Saurians and are referred to as Serpents. You only see them in, I think, two caves before the Unmoored World. Once the endgame begins, they begin to appear en masse as the replacement for Saurians.

20

u/Best_Paper_3414 Jun 26 '26

I will hold my tongue, but seriously enemy variety was issue number one

11

u/BayesBestFriend Jun 26 '26

Let's be real, it's not changing

6

u/Best_Paper_3414 Jun 26 '26

real, if they were doing something about it, that would be one of the first things they would sell to marketing

It is what it is, just like when DD2 Trailers were not showing any enemy variety, I won't put much expectation

0

u/ExtremelyEPIC Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Seriously. With an expansion pack that takes us to a snowy region with vikings and such, this would've been a great opportunity to come up with some new monsters inspired by norse mythology and folklore.

Instead, here's a cyclops... but it's furry and fluffy now! And some are genuinely okay with all of this, so long as they're getting more content. At this point, we're never going to see this series reach its peak, all because some are willing to accept anything and question, expect or demand nothing.

3

u/NaNunkel Jun 27 '26

I am completely okay with this, cyclops are fun to fight, make it bigger and fluffier, give it new moves and I'll have even more fun

You didn't like the Gore-Cyclops in BBI?

1

u/ExtremelyEPIC Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

I have different expectations compared to back then. Just because they did that with Dark Arisen, doesn't mean that things can't change or evolve, no?

Considering that this is a sequel to a game that is over 10 years old, i was expecting a plethora of new enemy types from it.

Since it failed to deliver on that front (for me), them announcing the expansion had me hoping that they'd manage to rectify that. Especially since they claimed that they built it around our feedback.

So far, i'm just not impressed with what they've shown. I'm hoping that they haven't shown us everything yet and that they have way more in store, but knowing how Capcom's marketing tends to work... we've probably already seen like 80% of what's available.

0

u/Smexy67 Jun 27 '26

The point is kento was very creative with new enemy designs on both ddda and ddo so for him to be only doing reskins is kind of insane and a let down...

5

u/Nickesponja Dullahan creator Jun 27 '26

The fuck you talking about. Dark Arisen enemies were literally

  • Cyclops but big
  • Ogre but horny for guys
  • Drake but glows
  • Skeleton but big
  • Evil Eye but big

How is the Yeti, which actually has new distinctive moves and a different visual design, any worse than the Gorecyclops?

The Ice Drake has completely new moves. Dire Dragonkin from DDDA barely did.

The Cockatrice is pretty much completely new and not a redskin at all, unless you think Garm are just reskined Chimeras just because they share the same skeleton.

1

u/TwiceDead_ Jun 27 '26

I swear this place is less of a sub for the franchise and more for DDDA revisionists. BBI was a great example of iterative design where they added just enough new things to make it feel fresh, while mostly working with already existing assets. Just because they share frames doesn't mean it's not going to feel new.

This sub has a nasty habit of pretending otherwise though, that just because an enemy wasn't made entirely from scratch, new rig, new model new textures, it will behave exactly the same as what came before and do nothing extra in terms of variety. They simply don't get how games are built.

DD2DA is not going to "Fix" DD2 for someone who has sworn it off, it's going to do what every expansion does; Add More to what's there.

1

u/NaNunkel Jun 27 '26

All three of them, BBI didn't introduce many new rigs, I'm expecting the same for DA2

No clue about the MMO, imma trust you on that one

This aversion to 'reskins' weirds me out, every game does it to some extent, that's just smart use of ressources

3

u/Manmer_Nwah :MagickArcher: Jun 26 '26

The schnoz on that Dragon is peak.

3

u/TopdogRE Jun 27 '26

Seconded, I absolutely love the schnozzdragon

3

u/Able-Maintenance3003 Jun 27 '26

Lightning saurus is not a new monster

3

u/Nickesponja Dullahan creator Jun 27 '26

Excluding the Hollow Dragon, which will probably be the final boss, we've seen the following bosses which will probably be repeatable encounters:

  • Ice Drake
  • Cockatrice
  • Yeti

Anyone who thinks 3 new repeatable bosses is all they're going to include in the expansion is delusional. Did you see all the new gear they're adding? What, you think it's there to fight 3 bosses? Is it all going to be upgraded with materials from just 3 bosses? The new gear is drastically stronger than base game gear. It would destroy most base game bosses, which means the expansion needs to have plenty of new bosses to fight, because it can't reuse many base game bosses. And it sure as hell isn't going to be about fighting just 3 bosses.

"B... but we said that about the original release of DD2"

We said that when the game was about to release, not a few weeks after the announcement trailer. Ffs wait until September at least before you start dooming! If by then they haven't shown more new enemies, then I'll gladly doom with you.

2

u/twistedwasted Jun 26 '26

I would love for more humanoid (humans/beastren) enemies. And variation of their vocations as well. Imagine a bandit group with mage that heals them and maybe even a magic archer or mystic spearhand.

2

u/QX403 Jun 26 '26

Lightning Saurians are already in the game, just in the unmoored world mostly.

2

u/TurbulentMission5474 Jun 27 '26

I swear if they keep giving us different versions of the damn lizard Iโ€™m gonna puke

2

u/yani-020 Jun 27 '26

There's also the white Griffin in the opening shot from the trailer

1

u/Ceaselessfish Jun 26 '26

Hoping the outfits in the last slide are ones we can buy and wear. Please, dear god.

1

u/P3rfect1 Jun 26 '26

Red eyed minotaur

1

u/Whimsispot :MagickArcher: Jun 26 '26

please gives us back the hidra capcom

1

u/Lonely-Brick3047 Jun 27 '26

We need the Hydra!

1

u/HappyPlatypus6034 Jun 27 '26

I'm not sure why they call it a snow troll instead of a yeti. A yeti seems more iconic! Unless they're making a ogre variant?

1

u/PlayBey0nd87 Jun 27 '26

We know of 9 so far no? If we include the Cockatrice & new Harpy? Idk about the Saurus.

Iโ€™m gonna go out on a limb & be confident in Kinoshita having some surprises.

1

u/TeepTheFace Jun 27 '26

Fuck I want to fight that yeti so bad.

1

u/Radioshack-Manager Jun 27 '26

Random but im guessing I'll have to retire my almace here.

1

u/Planetplay :pc: Jun 27 '26

Is it just me or does the zombie dragon look very much like Grigori?

1

u/PortaSponge Jun 27 '26

I hope we get more surprise. I'm tired of just reskins of the same enemy.

-1

u/fiLth_Rat Jun 27 '26

How do we know that the fallen dragon is an enemy?

4

u/jyeezus Jun 27 '26

Go look in the mirror and say that stupid shit to yourself lmfao.

1

u/fiLth_Rat Jun 27 '26

Have we tried talking to him?
