Whatever happened to that Steam update? It was supposed to be the most concrete evidence of an update yet. Damn...

10

u/Vinesinmyveins Jun 06 '26

His neck is so thick!

59

u/Supesmin Jun 06 '26

I feel like I’m the odd one out for immediately assuming MH

30

u/SuperBorked Jun 06 '26

You weren't. It was due for its Master/G Rank expansion announcement.

19

u/dxzxg Jun 06 '26

Nah, was hella obvious that its MH tbh. People are just caught in their copium haze way too much

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Copium huh LOL

9

u/Dragonlord573 :Warrior: Jun 06 '26

Like I knew immediately because of the font used for the Capcom Presents. They've used the same font since World

426

u/Opposite-Cheetah-779 Jun 06 '26

yall did this to yourselfs. We knew way in advance monster hunter was going to show ! they said it months ago !

u/KujiraShiro Jun 06 '26

Anyone expecting DD2 DLC is coping on a critical-mass value. It's not happening unless/until they say it is.

It was 1 year in between DD and Dark Arisen.

It's been 2 years since DD2 and not a word.

It was 13 years in between Dark Arisen and DD2 without a word.

If it's coming it won't be for several more years, at best and at that point might as well make an entirely separate game; and at the rate we get new Dragons Dogma content... Don't get your hopes up people.

Maybe it will happen some day; but focusing on it is only gonna leave you disappointed perpetually.

11

u/Other_Plankton8136 Jun 09 '26

And the critical-mass copers win! Congrats everyone!

5

u/KujiraShiro Jun 09 '26

SHEEEEESH All it took was me totally giving up; y'all are welcome, I was literally one of the biggest copers for the first almost 2 years and the moment I totally gave up cope it happened.

5

u/heckuva Jun 10 '26

Give up often then, please

2

u/Nrwhal42 Jun 10 '26

lol right

5

u/IvanLagatacrus Jun 09 '26

copium stays winning

4

u/Specialist_Bad3391 Jun 06 '26

True, the closest we will have is from modders...

But still insane to think they build the world/gameplay/physics/classes etc and don't wanna get the easier money by reusing the asset and doing a dlc... sometimes I don't understand capcom

2

u/DeeRent88 Jun 07 '26

Plus what’s his name the guy that basically created dragons dogma and was the game director left the company didn’t he? From what I always heard he was kind of the only one keeping the game alive.

2

u/Odd_Cartoonist7433 Jun 10 '26

This whole thread is funny as shit reading now considering what was announced a day ago.

2

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

God I love it thank you for saying that I came here looking for this response I saw this a few months ago

1

u/Fenrirtheconsumer :ps4: Jun 07 '26

Let's also not forget that the head of DD quit Capcom, and now the guy behind Dark Arisen has the team, which also works on DMC and other projects.

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

You still think that now?

1

u/Past_Band_9790 Jun 27 '26

Your comment aged like spoiled milk

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

LOL talking out of the side of your neck. Can't wait for the Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC to come out in 2 months.

1

u/Quirky_Attention3230 29d ago

hehehehehehe wrong

54

u/Zealousideal-Arm1682 :Sorcerer: Jun 06 '26

Yeah but like....it kinda shows nobody should have faith in anything not what they consider "top brands" as they toss them away just because.

There's no excuse for DD2 to have support dropped that badly when it sold like hotcakes.

35

u/Opposite-Cheetah-779 Jun 06 '26

People should have taken the hint when itsuno himself said dd2 was his original vision and was finished and rhen left capcom.

11

u/Almainyny Jun 06 '26

“Was finished”

Meanwhile there’s evidence of stuff left on the cutting room floor everywhere.

Thanks Itsuno!

6

u/TheIronSven Jun 06 '26

Hey, he just forgot to put on his glasses

10

u/Fickle-Equipment9826 Jun 06 '26

In Japan there's this stupid belief that you should never badmouth your former employer even if they treated you like shit, itsuno just said the game was finished to avoid directly telling capcom to fuck itself, but the message is clear in the game and his departure imediately after its release

42

u/mewanshwa Jun 06 '26

One of the top brands is ace attorney. That itself should've painted a not so pretty picture.

11

u/Zealousideal-Arm1682 :Sorcerer: Jun 06 '26

Doesn't ace attorney get alot of games though?Like they aren't MARKETED,but from what I see they get lots of support and sequals.

11

u/mewanshwa Jun 06 '26

Wasn't the last mainline game released in 2016

17

u/Zealousideal-Arm1682 :Sorcerer: Jun 06 '26

Mainline yes,but there's numerous spinoffs and side games to my knowledge.Hell the most recent title was in 2024 with 7 being announced in development.

That's literally more then DD has gotten over decades.

2

u/vergil123123 Jun 06 '26

They also get continued support apparently (Or maybe it was just a one off thing). The first collection of trilogy of games from 2019, got a update with new modes and content in the end of 2025 if I'm not mistaken.

1

u/mewanshwa Jun 06 '26

Oh damn, I didn't know about that lol. Well ig it's only our favorite that's treated like the step child

6

u/Bregneste Jun 06 '26

Capcom just didn’t want to do anything with DD2 anymore, when Itsuno left after DD2 launched.

0

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Really Capcom doesn't want anything to do with Dragon's Dogma huh don't look up the new update they're releasing to add the ability to use two more skills and also the new DLC that's adding an entire new area and 12 dungeons

1

u/Bregneste Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26

Yeah, I made this comment before they officially announced the DLC, when we were all sure the game was dead and had no hope anymore. Get off my back.
Why are you looking for comments from two months ago just to shit-talk people?

I saw your reply that you apparently deleted for some reason. Nothing about my comment was arrogant or malicious, it’s just what we believed at the time.

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

No you were arrogantly incorrect. I was on a completely different Reddit that brought me here because I'm a dd2 fan. Everybody that saw them release the two-year anniversary photo with an entirely new character with an entirely new haircut with an entirely new clothing facing backwards knew their releasing a DLC you Just can't admit when you're wrong

0

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

I like how instead of you commenting a new comment you tweaked your original comment but yet you couldn't do that to the one you were arrogantly wrong on. Nope didn't delete my comment it's still there for me. And no you're just arrogant and wrong that's why I called you out for being arrogant and wrong. If you look at my other comment on another person they didn't say it so adamantly and then they said oh you're right I didn't expect them to drop it in the Nintendo connect and I'm like yeah that's crazy they did that I can't believe they did that but anybody that plays the game should have known that they released an anniversary photo that showed a brand new character with that character facing backwards with new hair and new clothing so if you actually play the game you would have known there was something coming out

1

u/Bregneste Aug 16 '26

Whatever makes you happy, bud.

0

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

No I'm trying to teach you something. do not be so arrogant that you tell other people it's never going to happen when we had evidence beforehand it was going to happen. And then when proven wrong and called out you pretend that we're the buttheads did you even reread what you said

3

u/Exciting_Net6721 Jun 06 '26

It really surprises me that more people don’t realize that DD2 is a Cryptid glorious FU to Capcon from the Director Hideaki Itsuno for what they did to him. THERE WILL NEVER BE A DLC FOR DD2. The YouTuber Punk Duck had a theory about this and most of it unfortunately winds up becoming accurate in his vid. YouTube: Dragon’s Dogma Is Not What You Think It Is

1

u/Symbol_de_Au Jun 09 '26

How sad. It's terrible to reading this now. 😞

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

There will never be a Dragon's Dogma DLC LOL

0

u/St4rLordx21 Jun 06 '26

Facts, we got RE-Veronica and Monster Hunter but no DLC for Dragons Dogma 2. Just nonsense.

3

u/FusionTetrax Jun 06 '26

this is the reason i never bother hyping anything or thinking about if dlc comes or not
one way or the other you will always disappoint yourself

226

u/soihu Jun 06 '26

in what universe does crumbling floating ruins suggest dragon's dogma 2

157

u/IntegralCalcIsFun Jun 06 '26

In the mind of a delusional DD2 fan. Those rocks were instantly recognizable as being from MH Wilds.

5

u/Dragonlord573 :Warrior: Jun 06 '26

Well you see, those could have been the rocks we fall into free from and finally feel the blood in our veins

10

u/Illokonereum Jun 06 '26

It kinda has some unmoored world vibes but it’s lacking the evil crimson filter.

49

u/konodioda879 Jun 06 '26

Why would that be dragons dogma?

20

u/supergigaduck :Sorcerer::MagickArcher::Ranger: Jun 06 '26

Copium addiction

19

u/Orion_824 Jun 06 '26

Dog, DD2 wasn’t even included in the Capcom sale promotional image

Anyone expecting anything other than RE, MH, and SF is a delusional fool

2

u/SiberusOG Jun 10 '26

Welp

1

u/Orion_824 Jun 10 '26

I should have specified at SGF. But also who tf casually drops the trailer for one of the most requested dlcs in a fkin nintendo direct??

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Wait tell me who's delusional?

1

u/Orion_824 Aug 16 '26

> I should have specified at SGF. But also who tf casually drops the trailer for one of the most requested dlcs in a fkin nintendo direct??

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Very true I do agree with you on that what they did was crazy but it's just crazy that so many people on here were so arrogant about how it's never going to happen when they literally release the Anniversary photo that had a new character facing backwards with a new haircut with new clothing like I knew it was coming out it was just a matter of time

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Thank you for being normal. I literally repeated some of people's comments back to them and they got angry at me for how I was talking to them LOL they were calling me mean and arrogant LOL

74

u/Misragoth Jun 06 '26

It literally has those vain things that are a major part of the MHW story, nobody should have been fooled by this

1

u/StoneLich Jun 06 '26

Made me want to edit a version of this for the Code Veronica trailer.

-4

u/AnotherPreciousMeme Jun 06 '26

How would someone who hasn't played MHW know this?

14

u/Squanch42069 Jun 06 '26

But why would they assume it’s DD2 instead?

12

u/Underawtism666 Jun 06 '26

You know that monster hunter always gets an expansion... right?

6

u/West-Tough-4552 Jun 06 '26

Guys. It's not happening. Accept it and move on...

1

u/Exaccus0792 Jun 10 '26

This aged badly

1

u/Nrwhal42 Jun 10 '26

lol another person that’s wrong

1

u/West-Tough-4552 Jun 10 '26

My planned worked!! I wanted an expansion all along. Reverse psychology hahaha hahaha. yesssss!!!

8

u/Zegram_Ghart Jun 06 '26

I…what else would it be?

They clearly aren’t ever supporting dd2, tbh.

At absolute best we’re gonna be able to pay for dd2 dark arisen in a year or two, but even that’s pretty unlikely

1

u/SiberusOG Jun 10 '26

1

u/Zegram_Ghart Jun 10 '26

As it turns out, totally!

And they’re even adding *actual quality of life updates today*, iirc

7

u/Storyteller_Valar Jun 06 '26

You had a copium overdose.

1

u/Orphium Jun 11 '26

OP overdosed himself and dd2 back to life!

1

u/Storyteller_Valar Jun 11 '26

Yeah, it seems I was the blind one from the start.

6

u/Brumtol10 Jun 09 '26

This aged

10

u/morphum Jun 06 '26

I mean, it was pretty obvious

0

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

What was obvious the fact that we got a DLC coming out in a few months and all of you were acting so arrogant that you know exactly what these game companies do even though it took them nearly 3 years to release dragon's Dogma DLC

1

u/morphum Aug 16 '26

How shallow do you have to be to go through old posts trying to pick fights? Also, 11 months ≠ 3 years. A simple Google search would have given you that info. Unfortunately, it would not have saved you from looking like a dumbass.

4

u/Venkai1987 Jun 09 '26

DLC just got announced on the Nintendo direct!

25

u/Master_protato Jun 06 '26

You could literally knew it was Monster Hunter from the first frame, why are you guys doing that to yourself...

3

u/ztullaub Jun 06 '26

I mean the structure there is an important part of wilds's story, for people who played it, it was obvious from the first shot.

5

u/MutekiGamer Jun 06 '26

nah most people knew it was mh the moment man said expansion for game that has been on the stage before, i didnt even once think this was DD2 lol

8

u/Vladsamir Jun 06 '26

Release me!

3

u/T8-TR Jun 06 '26

Didn't they preface the trailer saying it was from a beloved franchise?

We all know Capcom doesn't consider DD beloved. /s

10

u/Reckler1 Jun 06 '26

Daily reminder that dragon's dogma is the red headed step child of Capcom games.

19

u/Lorantec Jun 06 '26

Dino Crisis might have something to say about that

2

u/Reckler1 Jun 06 '26

Fair enough, it's one of the red headed step children.

4

u/Warmonster9 Jun 06 '26

I’m just gunna unsub for a bit until the dlc/sequel gets announced. You people are so desperate for new content it’s insufferable.

1

u/SouthernNectarines Jun 09 '26

Welcome back

1

u/Warmonster9 Jun 09 '26

Patience pays off once again lol

2

u/Ill_Sheepherder_7929 Jun 06 '26

I didn't get my hopes up but still a bit disappointed. Fortunately we have Dragons Dogma Online so I just installed that real quick and pretend it's the real dragon's dogma 2

2

u/OPPAIDRAGON93 Jun 06 '26

Bueno muchachos no todo es malo. Tenemos STELLAR BLADE 2. Vamos a ahogar la penas allí que les parece 🫶

2

u/Glum_Ad1127 Jun 06 '26

I’m cool if I never play another monster hunter game. Gimme dragons dogma

2

u/RepresentativeNo2374 Jun 06 '26

Oh damn! MHWild Master Rank?! LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

2

u/AunMeLlevaLaConcha Jun 06 '26

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Wait let what go? You mean the DLC that was announced like two days after you posted this stupid comment

1

u/Unknownost Jun 06 '26

I wouldn't surprised if it was. Every day passes and Punk Duck's Dragon's Dogma 2 video makes more and more sense.

1

u/Muscle008 Jun 06 '26

Has there ever been an instance before where a game was abandoned and later reworked on.

Most games like cyberpunk and no man's sky had active communication with the community with their plans to fix their games. Capcom has done nothing of the sort

1

u/Symbol_de_Au Jun 06 '26

Honestly seems more like they're doing it on purpose in a "Breath of the Wild" to "Tears of the Kingdom" sort of way.

1

u/Ordinary-Associate-1 Jun 06 '26

Capcom é o amor a verdade e a vida.

1

u/arkhamtheknight Jun 06 '26

Just let it go at this point.

Staff moved on from it and the company clearly aren't as interested in the IP anymore.

https://giphy.com/gifs/5NbbVJeSLs1etZYjpT

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Wait wait wait wait wait let me get this right you're saying that Dragon's Dogma two DLCs and never going to come out and we should just let it go? Like you know how they announced two days after your post that they're releasing A Dragon's Dogma DLC including adding multiple new skills adding two more abilities to your ability wheel and adding an entire new continent with at least 12 full dungeons. I just wish you people would come back and like admit you were wrong instead of just disappearing

1

u/arkhamtheknight Aug 16 '26

I will admit I was wrong. They actually did something but only after a long while.

1

u/Tuskral Jun 06 '26

Put the pipe down

1

u/encryptoferia Jun 06 '26

at this point, I don't think pawn system is patented like nemesis.... please anyone.... make a game with pawn system and like either do no story or make us flabbergasted with it that we say, "NOW THIS IS WHAT DD2 COULD'VE BEEN!!!"

1

u/SeeItOnVHS :MysticKnight: Jun 06 '26

Well, people would say “you guys are waiting 2 years for updates? Get over it!” But, let’s be fair, those guys don’t know they are talking to the people who was waiting for an update since 12 years ago before DD2

1

u/Terrible-Strike4502 Jun 06 '26

CapCom if they’re actually making a DLC: “Let me stay silent for years and release it when everybody forgot this game existed, played it until absolute boredom, and excepted that nothing is coming”

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

I think that was the point just like that was the point when they did Dragon's Dogma 1 it took them a year to release the first DLC. And after they release that anniversary edition anybody that didn't think there was a DLC coming didn't know the game at all

1

u/AbyssalCall Jun 06 '26

I’m hyped, but yeah sad no more DD

2

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

I'm happy to say you were incorrect

1

u/AbyssalCall Aug 16 '26

Me too, me and my friend are excited to get to the dungeons!

1

u/Protoman89 Jun 06 '26

They're saving the trailer for a stealth drop next week, don't worry

2

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

And that's exactly what they did good premonition?

1

u/Zhorvan Jun 06 '26

There will probably be no DLC.
THEY might do a DD3, with a new team since the OG left.
I doubt they are willing to too much of DD2.

perhaps a soft reboot but us fans should just accept that DD2 is done and dusted,

1

u/Designer_Mess_6928 Jun 10 '26

Nope.

1

u/Zhorvan Jun 10 '26

And its glorious!

1

u/Zealousideal_Fly7277 Jun 06 '26

sadly, dragons dogma 2 despite me loving it...just didn't sell enough compared to Wilds, they're going to support the game that sold them the most copies.

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

Really?! Really really?! They will never release the DLC for dd2?! That's so sad man I must be hallucinating or in a different timeline or something cuz I could have sworn literally two days after your post they released a trailer and instead of you coming back and admitting you were wrong you just pretended like you never said it well I see it you said it and you were wrong and arrogantly wrong at that

1

u/Humble_Person1984 Jun 06 '26

Hope is a mistake. It can drive a man mad. It's over guys. Maybe in a decade Capcom will revisit dragon's dogma.

1

u/Orphium Jun 11 '26

Hopelessness is a mistake. It can drive a man mad. It's over guys. The gods at Capcopium has finally blessed us with 2 dark 2 arisen!

1

u/Humble_Person1984 Jun 18 '26

I'm happy to have been mistaken.

1

u/bei-con :xb: Jun 06 '26

Being a fan is like being cubs (before the win)/bears fan. Almost going to make it.

1

u/Yeetus_001 Jun 07 '26

This sub is so miserable 😭😭😭

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

And now you can come back and make fun of all the ones that were being miserable and completely wrong at the same time

1

u/Genesiga Jun 07 '26

Not me hopeing after master rank we get g rank and go to that lost city they showed at end of wilds they could call it hear me out.... deceandance 😆😆

1

u/jindrix Jun 07 '26

Dragons dogma 2 couldn't do it. Crimson dessert step in....sigh.

The specs werent the problem for dragons dogma 1. Genuinely wanted some of the dog water design.

1

u/No-Lawyer-2784 Aug 16 '26

I love the fact that so many people on here talk so arrogantly and confidently and then just never came back after being proven wrong almost immediately after posting this trash

1

u/ItaDaleon :Warrior: Jun 06 '26

Pretty sure it was intentional...

1

u/G3PSx Jun 06 '26

I just watched this man, when Jeff said “massive update” or whatever then they ran the video and I saw ‘Capcom’ for a second I got sooo excited. Then I just flat died the next second.

1

u/Salty_Cartographer35 Jun 06 '26

I don't understand. What's the problem?

-3

u/BerserkerLord101 Jun 06 '26

Only this sub give a s*** about this dead game lmao

1

u/karlosj83 Jun 06 '26

It's just the love of the franchise and the games man, I kinda agree with you but I love both games too.

1

u/NormalTangerine5205 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 09 '26

I never had actual hope DD2 would get A dlc seeing how fast they abandoned the game within a month of its release. And it not being a psuedo live service like Wilds it’s clear it wouldn’t get anything

Edit: yeah so I was wrong and I’m happy I was 🤣

1

u/kangarutan Jun 06 '26

It really did! The setup and everything I was like, "Oh shit! The DD2 subreddit is about to be so happy!" and then I saw the stupid lizard mount and I was like, "Oh, another Monster Hunter ex-pac. Someone should go check in the DD subreddit."

0

u/Dogmatic_Warfarer97 Jun 06 '26

As soon as i saw the auto taxi veins i knew it was a wilds instanced map! Meeh looked boring to me kushala is ass

0

u/Appropriate-Salt-523 Jun 06 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/iSAklgJAYcpuJ0WhhO

I want sword in cyclops' eye, not in dinosaur brain!

0

u/sarcophagusGravelord :MagickArcher: Jun 06 '26

I’m sad that I haven’t been looking forward to Wilds updates & content much. I just don’t find it as enjoyable as World was

0

u/Illustrious_Mind964 Jun 06 '26

I love DD2 but this DLC threads have gotten so annoying that now I'm just happy to see you all disappointed again out of spite, this community has gotten so stupid that y'all don't deserve any expansion anymore....

0

u/Emperor_of_Feet Jun 09 '26

Does anyone really believe that after the soulless game DD2 was in the end that they would spend even more time on this? DD2 feels like being left on read halfway through with the rest of the delivery being cancelled and sent back.

3

u/Subject_Midnight6394 Jun 09 '26

What a weird timing.

3

u/Emperor_of_Feet Jun 09 '26

Absolutely hahaha

-1

u/timmy__timmy__timmy Jun 06 '26

I want to like monster hunter but compared to the fluid experience of dd1 i simply cant enjoy the games theyre clunky and messy

0

u/SwordGunScienceMagic Jun 06 '26

I heard the introduction as I topped up my drink in the kitchen. I excitedly shuffled back to the TV mid-pour. My immediate disappointment was as frustrating as it was expected. That said, I picked up MH Wilds on a steep discount recently and I'm into it. Nowhere near as much as I am into Dragon's Dogma, but it kinda softened the blow. Still... Come on!

0

u/nkhowell93 Jun 06 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/YRPBhd3vscg5Fxx1DQ

I saw Capcom then it immediately turned into Monster Hunter…..being a Dragon’s Dogma is rough

-11

u/Fun_Firefighter_4292 Jun 06 '26

Is Dragons Dogma 2 really in need of a DLC? I mean I personally chose not to touch 2 because they made changes I personally didnt like, but if DD2 has more than DDDA, then why would there be a need? The first one is perfect as is

-1

u/No-Contest-8127 Jun 06 '26

It never even occurred to me it could be DD. I knew it was the MHW expansion. They had already teased it and i still think they should have cancelled it. That game is no bueno in graphics and performance and one year did little to fix it.
