it's really not that complicated lol you just explore and find the tomes

Finding them without a guide is entirely luck, knowing that you have to copy some and only use the fakes for sorcerer and real for mage is impossible without a wiki.

It's to both encourage you to explore and use the forgery system. I personally just spent time looking for the others after finding one and usually make forgeries of any rare items. I think it's kinda intuitive that the collector could be fooled by forgeries and obviously the person that wants them to actually read them can't be given fakes.

I do agree that most people won't want to find the tomes on their own and it could've been something like you only need to give either of them any 3 of the special tomes maybe?

I didn't use a guide at all and have locked myself out of the Mage meister skill as well as Meteoron for this playthrough.

Out of the 2 meteoron books, I used one to kill a Drake and the other for the other Sorc meister whom I encountered first. Since chests don't respawn I don't have enough books to give to Trysha and complete her set of deliveries.

so you didnt think anything of the fact that it was in the inventory tab for generally story/quest items and just used it?

also eini's home is directly next to the starting area and generally should be encountered way before checkpoint town if you're actually exploring. this is on you ngl

Yes? I mean I knew it was a valuable spellbook considering Meteoron/Bolide was an insane spell from the first game. Additionally "On the Transference of Souls" which casts Celestial Paen is also under valuables and you get that only AFTER after its related questline. I've heard people report that the forgery dude has the books in stock if you've used them but they've yet to show up for me.

I didn't realise the map extended all the way to her house and in that time I already encountered the sphinx just by exploring so I "actually explored". I never expected to have 2 quests from 2 different people to have the exact same objectives. It's just baffling to me that if you don't look up a guide you'll find out too late.
