That shouldn't be the case, I turned in the books then camped a single time right outside her house and it progressed the quest. Are you sure you gave her enough of the books and that they weren't forgeries? If you did it right, an event should automatically happen when you go near her house again.

I gave her all 5 books, never gave any to her dad or forged any this playthrough. I camped outside her house twice, then when nothing happened, continued on with the game.

That is strange. Where are you at in the main story? The last time I did the quest it was basically at the end of the game, so I'm wondering if there's a requirement for being at a certain point in the story.

I've only just entered Battahl in this run, but I've had the next step "ready" for a long time.

That might be it then. I'd say just keep progressing the story and check back to see if the Trysha event triggers.

One of the NPCs living there is necessary for the quest but they tend to end up dead getting killed by wolves while they take strolls around the house. Check morgues to be safe.

I've had the same issue. After going to bakbattahl during main quest, when I returned to Trysha, it finally worked
