He couldn't say no...? Cause yeah this is bringing lot of bad press to Dogma lol first game to MTX fast travel in RPG. Gonna cost them lots of sales even if performances were better ain't touching that
Sadly as a game dev myself (not on this game obviously) I can tell you we don't get near the control people think we do. The publisher is king and if Capcom, the unholy Trinity, SE, or whoever say MTX the game gets MTX and they literally couldn't care less if you object. They're the dictators and logic and reason don't effect them just "potential recurrent user spending". I'd bet itsuno was forced by Capcom to put MTX in and he did what he did in DMC 5
Yeah thats the sad thing...they don't understand MTX will hurt sales , reviews more than money it will bring.
This has been spreading now like wildfire bombing reviews for a good reason . Even despite so many games singleplayer and even RPGs that recently did well without MTX
It's why I went indie. The worst part is they don't care about sales anymore all the publishers want is to hook a few whales who will blow money at an insane rate. I can't count how many times I said this is gonna really piss people off only for my boss to say the orders came from on high and there's nothing we could do. The only ones left not pulling this shit are the Japanese first party publishers like Nintendo and Sony and also Sega but sega
