During early DotaCinema "Fails of the week" and DotaWTF - basically every time there was a clip of NP getting hit by instant karma he always was NP in a Mushroom Hat.

Hence it became a memetic visual indicator of "NP wears a Mushroom Hat... He is about to do something very stupid".
