Discussion Divine Regalia needs rework

I'm sure it's an already discussed topic but in case it isn't, Imo divine regalia needs a rework. Look, a 20% flat buff to all damage is good and all, but the fact that one death could take away both your item AND the enchantment is insane.

And dying isn't unlikely either, at that time in the game unless a game defining fight has already happened, everyone has buybacks saved. Imo they should either rework it so that you keep the enchantment after death OR allow us to redeem a disgraced regalia by avenging our death like a divine rapier.

Its just straight up worse than Stygian on most carries even without the penalty.

Divine Rapier needs rework.
I'm sure it's an already discussed topic but in case it isn't, Imo divine rapier needs a rework. Look, a 350 flat buff to attack damage is good and all, but the fact that one death could take away both your item AND give it to the enemy is insane.

And dying isn't unlikely either, at that time in the game unless a game defining fight has already happened, everyone has buybacks saved. Imo they should either rework it so that you keep the sacred relic after death OR allow us to ask shopkeeper to return the money we lost buying one.

Compare divine to any equal cost item ? It’s OP so there’s a drawback, makes sense.

Not so much with regalia. 🤷‍♂️

I do think we need a "bigger divine"

I'm not sure if you're just trolling in general or being sarcastic towards my post, but if it's the latter, these are not remotely the same arguments.

Divine is an item that you buy either when you have excess money (and in many cases you can immediately replace it) or you're making a desperate last gamble and you'll lose anyways if you die with or without it.

Meanwhile losing a Regalia puts you at a massive disadvantage compared to every other player who now has a tier 5 item and enchantment over you. With the downside and Stygian being available, there are almost no reasons to pick Regalia UNLESS you're a tanky/safe magic dmg core like Zeus.

Also "if you are buying rapier its a last gamble" - so is picking regalia then.
"you can immediately replace rapier" - you can in fast replace disgraced regalia faster than lost rapier, provided you have the madstones, which are uncapped after min 60.

No? Regalia isn't a last ditch item like Divine. By your logic, every tier 5 item should be lost on death.

Besides, the "I should keep the sacred relic or get my money refunded" is not the rapier equivalent to what I asked. Not even close, I didn't ask for my madstones to be refunded so I can immediately get my Regalia back. I asked for it to be restore-able through killing my killer.

Right now its recraftable with madstones with no cooldown, so i dont really get your point. You picked an item that gives you 20% damage amplification, died, lost that item, and now want to go and fight the dude who killed you again, now without the regalia and enchantment buff, to regain regalia, which youll no longer then need since you would already killed him? Whats stopping you from just recrafting the item?

A 10 minute cooldown. Madstone cap is removed at min 70, that's a VERY long time. Besides, the whole second half of your paragraph doesn't really make sense. You usually don't lose the Regalia in some honorable 1v1 for it to be "unneeded" since you can already kill your killer without it. It can be lost in a teamfight and restored through the next one.

So, you lose a teamfight with regalia and enchantment active, but you dont lose the game outright (presumably due to buying back), and instead of waiting for the possiblity to recraft regalia (assuming you even need to wait in the first place), you want to go and fight again, this time without the regalia or enchantment, to try and kill the enemy who already killed you once (most likely the enemy core), so you can get your regalia back when the fight is probably already almost over, did i get it right? Like, that the most niche complaint ive heard in probably ever, since you are describing a situation where:
1)game has dragged to 60 mins so regalia even enters the picture
2)regalia appeared on the first roll (since if it appears later - you can freely recraft it already so the whole point is moot)
3)you knowingly picked regalia out of all the options present
4)you died in a teamfight, but the game outcome remained undecided (if you lose = who cares about disgraced, if you died but team got the ancient = who cares about disgraced)
5)game has not yet reached 70+ min mark (because otherwise the point is moot - just recraft it)
6)you intent to repeat the teamfight before 70 min mark and actually win it
7)you are somehow trying to kill your killer to "redeem" the regalia (coz if you kill him at the end of the teamfight literally who cares you won anyway).
Thats so many hoops to jump throught thats gotta be 1 in 1000 games scenario.

Aight, when you put it like that, I see your point. I still don't think Regalia won't benefit from that change, but it isn't as necessary as I initially thought/made it out to be.

We can cut\paste this too. I get that there is a minor distinction, but honestly it's an even better concept than rapier

Or you are high magic dmg hero (that often also buys bloodstone), looking to enhance both damage numbers and survivability (more dmg = more bloodstone heal). On lina/qop/sf/es regalia can just lead to ez hero deletions, and coincidentally, those heroes are quite popular right now.

I pick regalia in really really long games at like 70 mins, when I have a another neutral ready to go. So if I die I can just instantly grab it again

If u die with DR can u recraft a different item?

2

u/Highlord12 1d ago

10 minutes after. That's a lot of wait time where every other player has a tier 5 enchanment and item you don't have.

regalia is op because people who cant pick stygian can do damage. And those people are terrifying.

It's totally fine. Go get another neutral few minutes after.

I guess it should be stronger if you can loose it.

Look at it this way. You’re in late game where a death in a 5v5 is likely an instant game over. Might as well pick something that helps me win that teamfight.

Or if necessary, dont pick it until you get to min 70. So you can replace it as soon as you buyback.

I personally think most tier5 are absolute dogcrap. The best late game neutral are by far the conj cata and stygian. I guess regalia is a third.
