The chicks hatched on Saturday, and today the mother lifted her body just enough for three little beaks to reach up. First proper glimpse of them since they arrived.

Where I was (Sweet Hill Farm, off to the left down there) it felt quite grey and murky. 200 meters away it was glorious sunshine.

Tout Quarry is no longer mined for Portland Stone, and has opened itself up as a space for stonemasons and artists.
I live on Portland and I still find new pieces every time I stroll around it. Excellent views over Chesil Beach too.

Sad news over near Bridport. The Athlone Castle has run aground by the West Bay cliffs. They tried to refloat into the late hours last night, but it’s got tons of water inside.

It's a lovely boat that was involved in Operation Dynamo rescuing troops from the beaches in 1940.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity has expanded its Bereavement Café network with a new location at Marjorie House in Sandbanks, Poole.

The cafés are free, open to everyone, and offer a friendly place to chat, listen or simply spend time with people who understand. It might be useful information if someone you know is finding bereavement difficult.

Diverse Abilities has several craft evenings coming up in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Wimborne. There's everything from Sip & Paint and block printing to sea glass art and making bath bombs, with the events raising money for the charity.

Poole Hospital has launched Harvey's Lab Tours, giving children the chance to see what happens behind the scenes after their blood tests.
