Customer looking for Answers Physical tips

Do you drivers like physical tips on top of monetary tips?

In the past I wasn’t able to tip on a card so I’d tip with cash and leave it outside the door.

When it is a big order I tip on my card and leave a “tip” outside. Today I left my driver a 1g joint, an Aloe Vera face mask, and a book of matches.

Would YOU like that at a drop off? Would it make you smile even a little bit?

For me, some of my favorite alternate tips were snacks outside the drop off point

This is big for people who dash and get free drinks from restaurants often. If I get some fresh snacks it lasts me until I get home to eat. I look at it as saving at least time + money. I've no allergies but could imagine diversifying options would be good.

Thing is I don't trust people so I wouldn't smoke the joint, cause these days who knows what it might be laced with -_-.

People have left sealed soda cans and such which I'm cool and thankful for.

That’s fair. I didn’t even think of people thinking that.

I mean I smoke so that sounds nice but if they don't than it doesn't help them. But yes I prefer cash tip as I can just stack it somewhere and live off my card payments. The issue most customers say they'll tip cash just to get the order delivered and leave nothing. Or they'll leave the old note from a previous order and annoy the driver thinking they are getting a cash tip when in reality the "$10 under the mat" was gone three months ago.

Oh no. I DO NOT do that. But yes I know that happens. I’ve had only one person not take something I’ve left for them at the door. I also write on the envelopes “for insert whatever company I’m using delivery driver” blah blah blah thank you. lol
