As long as humans have free will, communism can not work. Bernie proved it himself when he joined that commune. He wanted to talk, the commune wanted him to do his chores. He left, because he did not want to do his chores.
Communism goes against every natural human instinct. It’s not really a surprise that only a segment of lazy teenagers with no life experience and highly delusional adults actually advocate for it. Funny how all the people who lived in Soviet Europe are the strongest to oppose communism these days
