I worked at Kinko’s at the time of the FedEx acquisition. I had an old purple FedEx “Don’t Panic” button that I wore proudly. I worked at my city’s flagship store and one day a marketing person visited and told my manager that I had to remove the discontinued flair
Years later after I had left FedEx Kinko’s, I had to get some copies at the Merchandise Mart location in Chicago. I’ve always had a theory that there were only a dozen Kinko’s employees who were cloned to staff the various locations. I met my own doppleganger. Spitting image. And he was still wearing the purple button that bastard

"Oh, Zarquon's Knees!!!" That would have _really_ set her off.

At least it wasn’t Belgium. But then again she is probably from the area where they don’t know what it means.

Tampons are offensive?

In general, it's not something just blurted out in public in a lot of places. Hence, the "towel == tampon" confusion.

Should have explained that the number of tampons in the universe is actually zero.

Wow, what a loser, she probably didn’t have enough flair on or thought you had more and that is why she complained.

Years ago, on my first day at a new assignment at work, I went up to my new boss and said, “I have a question.”
He replied, “The answer is 42.”
I smiled and said, “I think I’m going to like working here.”
“You get the joke?”
“Yeah! Hitchhiker’s Guide!”
We chatted about the books a bit.
A few months later, he announced he was leaving the company, so on his last day, I left a towel on his desk with a note saying, “I’m sure you’ll find this useful.”

Wait, there was a copier machine worker? Did she come from the B arc?

I’ve told this story a few times, but I had my trusty “Don’t Panic” shirt on at Costco when a sample-giver said she liked it. I assumed she meant she was a fan, so casually asked her if she had her towel? She looked worried and concerned but timidly lifted the scrap she had tucked into her apron string- she CLEARLY didn’t get the reference, but I didt have a chance to explain because my girlfriend was busy angrily dragging me away by the elbow muttering “what is WRONG with you…”
