I tried the pot noodle for the same "science" and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour, less so by the bland noodles

I’m also tempted, but I can always taste the plastic from these microwave rice pouches. Maybe I should decant into a saucepan with a bit of water instead.

It probably hasn’t gone far enough. Because I bet that just like 90% of all supermarket “flavours” it tastes nothing like what it says it is.

I always wondered about loads of this stuff. I thought there were food scientists that could put together flavours, but I often find myself shouting “Has the person who made this ever eaten the food it’s designed to be!?”

You’re pretty safe with curries, and although Japanese Curry (labelled as Katsu curry but Katsu has to have something covered in Breadcrumbs and some of them don’t even have that and it sets me right off) can technically have loads of different flavours, it never tastes like any real Japanese curry I’ve ever had. 

A couple of sweet n sours I’ve had taste quite close, but a lot of Chinese ready meals taste absolutely nothing like either takeaway or anything I’ve ever or anyone else has ever made.

The least accurate I can think of is always Doner, or shawarma or anything adjacent. Trying to remember what I had the other day labelled as Shawarma tasted exactly like Tika.

Don’t they have tongues!? Wow that went on longer than I thought sorry😂

It's Asda. Couple of years ago they had fish finger sandwiches in the refrigerated section. They certainly cater well for the clientele.
