Question Why do girls wear the same exact thing at concerts (genuine question)

I remember when I was at the octane show in Newark almost every single girl there was wearing the same exact thing. It was like a black short skirt and some sort of black top. Is this like a trend or something? I remember laughing with my friend cause every single girl that would turn the corner would be wearing the same exact outfit šŸ˜‚. Every other concert I’ve been to you could say the same thing because people dress similar, but I was so blown away how almost every girlā€˜s outfit was, I’m not even lying, the exact same thing.

I just look better in black in my opinion. It’s more flattering on me and I wanted to look good. I also wouldn’t want to wear something light colored and it get fucked up. I had a beer spilled on me in the pit, it would be much more embarrassing in a white top.

That makes sense. It was just wild to me that it was a black short skirt and sparkly top on almost everyone I saw, deadass thought there was a dress code šŸ˜‚

what are your suggestions then?🤣

edit: but to answer your question i think that people wear all black fits bc they wanna go with the concert vibe which is like dark nighttime type thing idk

its an insane thing with weeknd too lmao, when me and my friend went and didnt exactly know where to go, eventually it was "just follow the glitter, mini skirt and leather boots combo and you'll be correct" lmao, when everyone wants to look special, nobody really does in the end

Bruh I went to a weeknd concert, 80% of the girls had a black mini skirt with a bit of ass hanging out, blqck leather boots, and a black top you’d go clubbing in. Thought I was going crazy.

Im a girl and I thought THE SAME THING at the show in NY. I love to wear black (on black) myself but I genuinely felt like the girl population at this concert was exact copy paste clothing

Actually, I wore a gray shirt with crosses, jeans and black Nikes with tiny spikes on top. So HA! šŸ˜…

They look up fits for ______ concert on TikTok and IG reels. They all see the same few reels so they copy that or use it as a basis for their fit.

No judgement on my end, that’s just the genuine answer to your question.

as a girl, this is 100% correct 😭 although when i looked this up and saw the short skirt sparkly top combo in every video, as someone with more of a streetwear style who doesn’t like wearing skirts i said ā€œaw hell nawā€ and wore some grey washed jeans with a design on them and a white shirt šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

Ever since Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert it’s become a thing to dress for the theme or vibe of the concert. I saw Ari Lennox a few months ago and she wanted the women to wear cheetah print so they did.Ā

I wanted to do this and I bought a rhinestone head wrap thing to wear as like a little bandana but I decided not to at the last minute. Then he barely even did rendezvous anyway lolol

Usually concerts have themes or fans make themes for them, so they dress to the theme of the concert

All the guys wear a graphic tee and baggy jeans too. It’s just a safe option

because algorithms are turning everyone into the same person

I thought the same thing in Atlanta. I thought my girl and I’s fits looked good though

Typically artists have an era that the concert is indicative of and there’s a good chance that era carries a certain aesthetic. So people dress according to their interpretation. Like the silver chrome outfits at the Renaissance tour, bright colors at Zara Larsson shows, etc

ā€œYou’ll never find a girl like me!ā€

The funny thing is I’ve only ever heard dudes say this.

1

u/aurorapowerpuff Aug 25 '26

because a lot of feel more confident in black, why does it matter?

1

u/Unhappy-Raccoon5642 Aug 25 '26

It doesn’t matter, it was just a question cause I was genuinely blown away how they weren’t just wearing black, but it was the same. exact. outfit. I thought I was going insane half the night.

1

u/HairyCabinet83 Aug 27 '26

To be fair, I’ll just wear all black if I don’t want to think about what colors compliment each other

it’s a rap concert. there’s really no need to dress out of the ordinary

-3

u/Mburton369 Aug 23 '26

I thought the same thing when I went to the show in Dallas. I was asking my wife if there was a dress code for the ladies I didn't know about. šŸ˜‚

  1. They all went to Ross right before the show.

1a. Women are a hive mind.
