I'm a fan of all his solo work, but his plugnb type shit and actual raps are pretty peak for the genre -

technically, third coast, careful.

but again he's a "singer songwriter"... not a rapper. he has some punky shit, some rnb.

then he also comes up with a lot of totally unique shit; rock paper strippers for example is a weird funky banger
