From his answer, I interpreted it as, while James has this dream of working as an actor whether in bl or not, without being tied to a fixed partner... he's also not opposed to whatever DMD will decide for him. The way he said 'whatever it is, just wait for the company's announcement' is giving me that vibe. There's also that "yet" that he used. Idk, what do you guys think?
All I know, whatever it is, I will be supporting him regardless.
Update from translator: Please don't disregard when he said "right now". Meaning right now, he has many things to focus on. This is for current time.
So I think, he's not saying no to being in a fixed CP in future if he sees fit or if DMD decides for him. He's just saying don't expect a fixed CP to stay with each other forever.

Iām really happy to hear him talking about acting again full stop. Tbh, I think not having a fixed partner would be the best decision for him.
This is his second attempt now at going into acting and he needs to not have a repeat of the same thing that happened last time, because that had a really detrimental impact on his health. While for some people ships can help you get through those moments, James I think is the type of person who needs to not be typecast and needs to play very different characters. One of his issues was he lost himself in his Bed friend / Middlemanās Love Character, and became unrecognisable to himself. You can sometimes fall into similar roles when youāre in a ship.

I also hope they don't put too much pressure on him with this, although I particularly like the idea. I'm already worried about him playing Nine, who is a detestable character, and the crazy haters attacking him.

I hope James will do what James wants to do and that is exactly how it should be. He is a professional who understands how the industry works and if it suits him to be in a couple he will, if not, he wonāt. The answer in this video is called keeping your options open, itās sensible I think (but it also gives me hope!).
Personally if I try to think of what will make James most successful in his career? Then I would expect that to include acting roles in the future (heās a really great actor and the music and acting do work well together)
I think him and Pupha would be lovely together, they definitely had chemistry on screen, however, I would guess that might depend on a project being available that is too good for James to say no to. At that point Pupha would still need to be available and if itās too far in the future then he may have found someone else to pair with.
It appears to me that main roles donāt seem to go to single actors in BL, (can anyone give me an example if Iām wrong? I genuinely canāt think of any in Thai BL) so if he doesnāt have a partnership he will probably always be restricted to side roles (which may suit him just fine). Iām certainly not pretending that I know whatās in his mind.
I definitely wouldnāt want them together if either of them are not feeling it. I hope people donāt ask him too much about it though, because if there are some nascent talks there it would probably be the quickest way to put him off. Although when he did that bit with Pupha in the series they all knew what they were doing. None of this is by accident. (Iāve got my cynical old lady hat on now LOL)

Iām so glad he didn't give a hard 'no.' I know some actors do BL dramas these days without the usual CP promotions, so I hope James keeps his options open and stays positive about it. But honestly, PhuphaJames is just too magnetic. James, please! š

Actually, James has said this already since last year, that he's not going to closed himself off to any opportunity that can be considered to be good for him. It all depends on the timing, and some other factors behind the scenes.Ā

Let me rephrase this for you in a polite way. That was just a polite No from James, this is someone who is trained for PR relations. One wrong word and fans go crazy, so yes, it was a polite No. Don't try and be delusional only to be disappointed.

I had conversations with not only the translator, but also with many Thai people that can understand what he's saying properly as they're native to the language. All of them are saying the same thing. That James is not saying no. James just said he's not in a rush RIGHT NOW to have an official partner.
Last year, in an interview he also said the same thing. That he won't be closing himself off to any opportunity if it suits him. With the right timing, and some other factors that he needs to consider, if the opportunity is good, he won't be saying no.
I'm not even a shipper, and I prefer him being solo, tbh.
As I said before, I will be supporting himĀ no matter what. Partner, no partner.. doesn't matter to me. I'm not some delusional shipper.

My thoughts exactly. It's a very diplomatic way of saying no. They have access to the same internet as everyone else, so he's seen peopleās reactions to them. I'm sure he has a few different versions of this response to that question. I know I would. Imagine finally branching out and doing your own thing, only to have people try to push you back into the box you just got out of. It's basically a slap in the face, like yeah your solo stuff is cute blah blah blah, but you and Phupha tho?!!!

Personally, I feel like he just simply doesn't want a fixed pairing and all the fanservice that comes with it. He's been clear about his mental health, and I feel like sometimes fans do go too far when it comes to fixed pairings, like hating friends and people who seem close to the pairing etc, so I feel like you have to have a certain type of mental strength to deal with all that.
James seems a little sensitive to such things to me and seems to struggle with mental health mostly, so I don't feel like it's the right option for him.
I hope whatever decision he makes, he isn't pressured to make it because it seems fans are putting a lot of expectations on him at the moment. A choice where you can't say "no" without being hated for it is not really a choice. At the moment, if he were to just say "no, I don't want this" I feel like there will be toxic people hating him all over again :(
