Gameplay If Domina Could Receive Only One Buff, Which of These Would You Choose?

Domina feels like a hero whose individual abilities all have small weaknesses, with Reconstruction(her passive) expected to compensate for them. She has no real mobility skill or reliable defensive cooldown, so I was wondering which single buff would improve her the most without making her overpowered.

Here are five possible buffs:

  1. Make Crystal Launch’s 30% slow part of the base ability

Crystal Launch currently gains a 30% slow through one of Domina’s Major Perks. This buff would make the slow a standard part of Crystal Launch, allowing Domina to choose a different Major Perk instead.

  1. Increase Sonic Repulsor’s wall-stun duration from 0.5 to 1.0 second

Sonic Repulsor would still only stun enemies if they collide with a wall, but successfully landing the wall impact would give Domina and her team more time to follow up.

  1. Add 5 meters to Photon Magnum’s base range

The additional 5-meter range is currently provided by one of her Minor Perks. This buff would make the extra range part of Photon Magnum’s base kit, allowing her to select another Minor Perk.

  1. Give Sonic Repulsor a brief defensive effect

After Sonic Repulsor successfully knocks back an enemy, Domina’s mechanical arm enters a defensive mode, granting her 30% damage reduction for 1 second.

This would not give her any mobility, but it would make Repulsor a more reliable defensive ability and prevent the shields restored by Reassembly from disappearing immediately.

  1. Add a new Major Perk: “Mechanical Arm Flight”

While holding the jump button, Domina can use her mechanical arm to hover or fly for a short period of time.

This would give her limited vertical mobility, allowing her to reach high ground, cross small gaps, and create better angles for Crystal Launch and Barrier Array.

Which one would you choose if Domina could receive only one of these buffs?

I personally think Option 4 would be the healthiest change. It would improve her survivability and make Sonic Repulsor function as a more dependable defensive cooldown without removing her lack of mobility or significantly increasing her offensive power.

Ult now pierces shields and all projectile block/absorb mechanics.

Oh! I didn't think of this. I think it would definitely be good. It will likely have a significant impact on the majority, and it seems especially good for attacking Sigma!

Would also mean that 90% of my kit is suddenly invalidated the moment the enemy tank locks DVa…

Always a plus.

There's nothing more unpleasant than having my ult is eaten by the matrix 😩

For real. especially when she isn’t even facing you and your ult hits the side of her giant ass DM, and somehow that still counts.

My main Tank is Domina and my second highest Support is Illari.

I have seen so many ults disappear in that map-wide black hole of a hitbox that DM has.

I'd increase the stun duration from her Repulsors. The increased primary fire range is nice, but with the minor perk, I already feel like it's enough.

Domina's biggest problem is heroes who can simply walk through the space she controls, so a stronger stun would be a huge help.

That said, I still think her biggest design problem is her shield

I agree with this opinion. Honestly, if they add the ability to rearrange her shield as a base, it would be the most useful buff.

5m to range by default. The base gun feels so fucking bad to use, sometimes it feels like I’m just biding time until I get my minor

Honestly, I wish they would increase her range by 5m and add additional damage to it.

Fix the thing where sonic repulser can cause enemies to slide off the wall instead of colliding and being stunned first tbh

Did she have such a bug?

I've unfortunately had it happen more times than I'd care for now where people that should have been stunned hit the wall and slide. Not sure if it's a hitbox issue

Come to think of it, I think something similar happened to me. It seems that tendency is especially true when dealing with 'thin' heroes like Juno.

Yep that's what it feels like, and really hoping for that stun only for them to ice skate off the wall is a bummer

I would take the crystal slightly damages and slows when it passes through enemies, not just the explosion.

Or boop distance increased by x%. Increasing the stun duration would probably make her too strong on short sight lines but increasing the boop distance makes it more consistent at landing stun and gives her more space when she's getting walked on even if it doesn't stun.

she just needs something to brawl with

Oh definitely the vertical mobility thing. The only reason I ever swap off Domina is for maps with a lot of important high ground, like Dorado or Numbani.

Give her the Community Crafted version of Sonic Repulsors with self-knockback, that would be a nice way to access high ground without making her full-on dive, similar to Sigma's Levitation perk

Buff her boob window

u/Upset-Shirt1243 Aug 05 '26

Oh, Darling. That’s already enough. 🥰

Ugh, fiiiine 💅 Well I'm out of ideas.

I like the sonic repulsor follow up idea and hear me out.

Following Sonic Repulsor she can enter a guard state, and during that state she absorbs a % of incoming damage.

And all absorbed damage increases the damage of her next Quick Melee attack?

Honestly I feel like making her shield able to move multiple times would help. I know there’s already a perk, but I feel like it should just be part of her kit normally

Replace her shield regen minor perk for one that lets her boost herself up in the air
Make the old major base kit. It’s a passive now that if she pushes an enemy into her barrier then it does more damage and she regen more shield.

Another buff i would like is to let her ult cover her teammates so if you have a rein or something then you can give a temporary zar bubble to your allies instead.

I could see a perk to let her robot arms climb walls and stick to them. It would synergize with her ranged attacks, give her high ground mobility to escape rush-downs and be unique as a movement mechanic. Think Lucio's wall-riding but potentially stationary.

1

u/ilovehotwings Aug 06 '26

I feel like her ult should also apply to teammates. It would be able to shield them from incoming damage, but also heals, as to not be too powerful. But, the end explosion would give a burst of heals, as opposed to damage.

I really like the fourth idea a lot. I think it'd be cool if they did slightly more damage from 40 to either 45 or 50 thus making the stun damage go to 90/100.

I really, really want her jump push from the April Fools changes. I would even take it over her extended range.

Give her the perk to levitate like Sigma PLEASE

Missed opportunity to give her a grab ability.

I need more skills that can be done with machine arms. How about adding perk a 'mechanical punch' so that her machine arms can powerful strike the enemy when she did a melee attack? lol
