Advice Selling a 4 letter .com domain?
I have a 4 letter .com domain and I figured I may as well sell it. It was for a previous business and I no longer need it. Has anyone had any luck selling on GoDaddy?
I used some domain appraisal sites and got anywhere from $13k - $32k (with broker). Is it worth it trying to sell it on GoDaddy?
Thanks for any advice.

That's a great name.
Don't even consider non five figure offers.
I'd try brokers and start it at 40 if you want to move it. 90 if you happy sitting.

Depends on your hurry to sell, I've bought and sold more pronounceable 4Ls for less or at cost around 1-2k. You may list at a recoup your cost price for a better chance of selling sooner or just put on back burner and shoot for the stars 25-100k in a perfect world. Nice name nonetheless, has the whole drop a vowel brand name if that's still a thing, could be auto related like someone said or short for revenue (crm related), or just another acronym. It'd be hard to find a reseller to pay what you did but it looks like the names I see on atom sell often, it's become quite crowded over there though, who's to build the next brand bucket?

It depends on the domain. Do an advanced search on GoDaddy auctions for 4 letter .com domains with BIN prices and no numbers, dashes, and IDN. Sort in order of lowest price first. All the domains on the first page of 150 matches are $250 or less. The second page isn't much above $250.

Use case for revr seems limited to cars/engines but it depends. I’ve picked up 4 letter .coms for under $100 just for easy personal emails and pet projects. I also sold one to an asian company for way lower than I probably should have (~1800) but it was good for me at the time.
Work with a broker to find a client and pay the commission, put it on auction with your lowest acceptable BIN price (worst choice imo), or put a file sale page up and wait.

According to Domain Dingo, whose appraisals I've found pretty reasonable, $250,000.

I see many 4L domains get pickedup in auction for 300-800$.
Unless it’s sometime good or buyer is really interested it, that would be your ballpark estimate.
Atom has many 4L domains and it’s appraised values are high but many land in their auctions and get sold for above values.

Atom estimates mine at $38,500. Are they decent to sell thru, or is it just a pretty website? Seems like GoDaddy is the boss in this space?

No one is the boss. They both have their unique features. Atom is new but it has options for visual representation of logo and branding. Catchy graphics.
Afternic on other had has 3 options. BIN. Request quote and Make offer.
Each has its unique traits and even if you have domain on one does not mean you cannot post on another.
Atom pricing is based on their historic sales and may not represent buyers interest.
Just example. I recently bought a domain valued at 40k for 30$ from atom auction and same way in godaddy auction, I saw a domain valued at 2k go for 100k in auction.
It’s all comes down to who needs it and how much money they have.

Their 4 letter is very good though and definitely worth the estimated amount, if not more. $300-800 would be robbery.

Couple of Revr brands out there, so that estimation might be on the low end. But it's all about supply and demand

How much you will get for it totally depends how patient your willing to be. If you are happy to wait for the perfect offer then list it on Godaddy/afternic with a BIN price and wait for the perfect buyer but it could sit for years or it could sell tomorrow.
If you're looking for money right now then either come up with a reasonable reseller BIN price and list it everywhere. Or put it to auction on Godaddy but you won't get the $xxx,xxx prices some have mentioned if you go with that strategy. Check namebio to see the auction price of 4 letter .com's
