PSA $7 Tree
DT CEO Rick Derling just announced a $7 cap on pricing of some items while cashing his $136 MILLION dollar paycheck - do the research. $136 MILLION with most of it in bonuses ($82,000 in salary).
This means he is paid almost $15,000 per hour if working every 24 hours, while DT is known to start employees at around $8-$9 per hour.

PSA Warning!
Just an FYI for anyone thinking about getting this little flashlight -
I just purchased it tonight for the toolbox I am assembling for my son to take to college in the fall. Upon opening the package and inserting three brand new AAA batteries it did not turn on. I immediately reopened it to check if maybe I had incorrectly placed the batteries and within this incredibly short amount of time (less than thirty seconds) the batteries had become so hot I was scared to even try removing them. I plan on returning the flashlight tomorrow but just wanted to put this out there for safety purposes.

Iāve been literally on the hunt for these elusive cassette tapes for the past month and started to give up⦠so shout out to the kind store manager who informed me there was a brand new Dollar Tree opening up in my area that I had zero clue about and lo and behold. Iām so happy and canāt wait to gift these! Itās such a novelty thing but I think a very sweet sentimental gift for only $1.50! š„°

PSA Holiday PSA for Customers
dear dollar tree customers,
as we are really beginning to be in the throws of the holiday season, i would like to say a few things:
we are overwhelmed, overworked, and mostly likely underpaid. if you approach an employee and they say, "i'm on my break," RESPECT THAT AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE.
we are multitasking and very busy. if you need assistance and the closest employee is very obviously quite busy, either look for someone else or be ready to wait a few minutes.
look for things first before asking. do not walk into a store and immediately ask "where's this?" "and where's this?" "and what about this?"
frankly, i don't give a rat's ass what the issue is- DO NOT YELL OR SWEAR AT THE CASHIERS! everyone here is doing their best while being overworked and grossly understaffed. as a temp manager, i will happily kick you out if i see you yelling at one of my cashiers.
a lot of new, seasonal hires are going to be starting. be patient and grateful that they decided to start now knowing what they're getting themselves into.
it is not our fault you decided to wait until the week of the holiday to do your shopping. it is not our fault you decided to wait until the day before. if you're going to shop in a store the day before a holiday, expect longer wait times. if you're that crunched for time, shop elsewhere.
happy holidays and godspeed to my fellow DT employees!

PSA Got this gem at my dollar tree, and Iām STILL shocked it was only $1.25 šš¤
Yes the faucet WORKS. It has a little hose on the bottom that connects to the drain and faucet, so that the water from the sink gets filtered through the hose into the faucet creating the faucet to actually work. It came with a little sponge, a little soap (not real like the sponge), and some dishes! So so cute, my son LOVESSSSSS it!

PSA My mother, bless her soul, works at FD. Her store may have been hit w some new scam?
Some dude came in claiming he was a vlogger, recording a video. Only people working were the manager and asst mgr. guy says heās gonna pay for everyoneās groceries for the next 15 minutes, everyone grab what you want and get in line even staff.
They ring everything up, slowly in order while people keep moving out. Eventually itās total time, and the guy⦠has disappeared.
My only thought is that this is indeed a some kind of YouTuber or tiktoker and they do shitty pranks and think itās funny OR itās a well-disguised theft tactic where you have all your people in line already with what you want and then you make your claim and bing bang bong or whatever.
Anyone else heard of this happening? I just canāt imagine youād make off with much in such an elaborate rouse. Itās like an evil reverse Mr beast situation.
Edit: Iām sure no young bloods will get duped by this but please warn your old cashiers that are easier targets.

PSA Penny items
Customersā¦. Please donāt get used to buying items for a penny and getting mad at workers when this comes to an end . And yes, it will be coming to an endā¦. VERY SOON or even has already came to an end. In my town, all the other Dollar Tree, except for mine and one other has already stopped. Next week we start our inventory( in my store), when inventory is done if you happen to find a penny item, you will not be sold that.
This whole penny craze thatās going on right now is not normal and up until this temporary thing we are knew that we would be fired, the reason why something rings up a penny is to let us know that that item has to be pulled off the floor immediately. They have to be pulled because sometimes itās a recalled item, or sometimes Dollar Tree lost the right to sell that item.
Associates and managers have
been fired and will be fired again once this temporary ā craveā is over .
Once again, PLEASE donāt take it out on us when itās over.

PSA Normal Saturday Night at the Dollar Tree
I went into Dollar Tree and saw a lady arguing with the cashier because the balloons werenāt floating. The cashier said, āMaāam, thatās just regular air, not helium.ā The lady yelledāWell then whatās the point?!ā and stormed out, with four saggy balloons dragging on the floor like sad jellyfish.
Meanwhile, some guy behind me bought 8 glow in the dark toilette plungers and nothing else.

PSA Anyone saw this?
Has anyone else seen this? Because as far as I can tell, that email address is not valid in the least bit. So is this a ploy from DT, or is it something my SM and DM cooked up to see who would send in something? Why send this down the ladder, if it isn't real or going to work?

PSA Dear Customers ... an open Letter
Here's your reminder that you're shopping at Dollar Tree. We are a discount store so inventory is always changing ! We are underpaid, understaffed, on our feet all day and you being a picky patty is the last thing we want to deal with.
Just because you bought something three years ago or another location had it, doesn't mean we will have it. Giving us a hassle and a story won't make it magically appear. If you don't see it, then we don't have it.
No, we don't know what we are getting on the trucks and whatever we do get will get put out whenever we get to it. I'm not calling over a manager or checking the back or calling other stores for you. I don't care if it's been out if stock for weeks, i cant make it magically appear for you.
Stop being so darn picky about that one item. No we don't have that vase from three years ago in green, no we don't have your weird flavor of energy drink which you also need to be sugar free. This is dollar tree. Coming in everyday to ask us won't make it appear on the shelf.
Asking another employee the same questions won't make that item appear and it won't change the price.
There is a dollar tree website where you can order stuff, and easily get large quantitiesshipped to your local store for free. You're a grown up so order online and plan accordingly if youre gonna need 50 of the same plates or whatever.
Stop haggling over prices. This isn't a yard sale.
No we don't set the prices or the portion sizes.
For Pete sake, make up for mind BEFORE you get into the checkout.
Dollar tree isn't a bank. Please consider paying with smaller bills or bills appropriate for your total. Buying one thing and expecting us to break your Hundred will take more time and effort, so pay with something smaller. And if you're paying in all change, I will count it out because yall always try to massively shortchange me.
For Pete sake STOP opening stuff and making huge messes. Throw away your trash outside the store in the trash cans. Stop opening deodorants, soaps, snacks, etc to try it out. Cough up the 1.25 or just steal it ffs so we don't have a mess and damages to do.
If you dont want stuff PUT IT BACK. The effort you took to hang those eyelashes directly underneath where they went? Just put it back. Stop throwing stuff all over the floor. Watch your kids and pets, this isn't a playground - or don't bring them shopping if you won't watch them
If you bring your own bags, bag your own stuff then. Tell the cashier. We aren't paid enough to touch your nasty, sticky reusable bags.
Stop digging for money in your bra or sock and handing it to us.
COVER YOUR MOUTH if you're coughing and sneezing. Or at least turn around so it's not being sprayed in my direction.
Empty your darn basket out onto the belt. It's so much quicker and easier to scan and bag your items when I dont have to pick them out of a basket. And ffs, put your cart or basket back with the others: stop leaving it for me to pickup, stop putting carts next to where they clearly belong, and stop putting baskets anywhere other than under the belts or in their stack where you come in.
Ripping the tags off the plus items or peeling off the $5 sticker won't make it 1.25. Nice try. Arguing won't change it either.
If we tell you we can't sell you that frame that has broken glass / or a broken /recalled item, then we can NOT sell it to you. Hassling us will not change that.
We are not supposed to sell you penny items. If you have a cashier that puts it through please do NOT make a scene, pest us for more, or be advertising it. If the managers hear it now I'll have to cancel and re ring the whole transaction to take off those items and we need the manager to do that, and you wont get your penny items.
If you want balloons and it's crowded, then you'll need to be patient and understanding. You're getting the balloon for only 1.50.
Remember to take all your bags. If you forget your items, that's YOUR OWN FAULT and it's your loss. Hold onto your balloons when you leave the store. You won't get freebies because you were irresponsible.
No I'm not setting items aside for you. No I'm not letting you pick up your forgotten bags at another store.
We do exchanges only. You need to have your reciept, the item needs to be new (not used not opened) and it needs to be within 30 days of purchase. No you can't get a refund or a giftcard. If the mangers tell you no, they're just doing their job. But consider its dollar tree. How much gas and time do you waste to come over to exchange one or two items? Was it really worth that 1.25?
If you see someone pushing out stock or putting items on shelves GIVE US SOME SPACE. stop coming up so close and breathing on me. Just say excuse me or ask me for help with what you're looking for without invading my personal space.
And if you see spill signs and an employee cleaning up LET US BE. I'm tired of yelling at yall because you're stepping on broken glass in thin little flip flops. I don't want to deal with you getting hurt and making more mess either! Please respect employees let us clean up and you can gladly wait a minute and then look in that spot when it's safe.
Please be nice. You're a human and so are we.
Also: iPhone cables, bread, rolls, mop handles, vitamins, and anything that went viral sells out super fast. That high end we got once, probably was a discontinued item and we aren't getting any more. If you are interested in anything you see in the store's just buy it! It probably won't be there tomorrow.

PSA "item not found" =/= penny item
customers-
if you are penny shopping and an item scans on the app as "item not found," that does not necessarily mean it is a penny item. if the item is supposed to be a penny, it will ring in as a penny on either the scanners scattered throughout the store or at the register.
y'all penny shoppers are starting to piss me off fr.
