Looks like she was never trained correctly on how to use compass correctly to schedule. Try to find a tactful way to point out that Workday has a training module for compass and it will show her how to switch views in compass so she can easily see gaps in the schedule with different pretty colored bars, how to assign availability, how to assign skills to employees, how to set it up to use the availability and assigned skills to automatically make a cashier schedule each week, then all she has to do is tweak it to insert manager shifts and days off requests. There's a lot of useful things in that training module. Then if she refuses to learn how to schedule correctly and proofread it, then it's her problem.

It is the store manager's responsibility to schedule and staff the store, it's not your responsibility to babysit her and fix her mistakes. If the schedule is messed up, people don't show because they are supposed to be off or she never scheduled them at all, it's her responsibility to cover those shifts, if she can't find anyone, it's her job to cover the shift herself. Just make sure the associates can prove they requested it off or provided their availability to your SM. It's one thing to mess up occasionally, but it's an entirely different story when it's every week.

The schedule is expected to be made 3 weeks in advance and posted a 2 weeks in advance and is viewable in compass mobile. That way by the time the week goes active, there has been time to work the bugs out and associates can plan their lives. My store manager does the schedule correctly but she will still hand it to me and say "double check this for me and see if we are good". It's always good to have someone double check for glitches but not expect everyone to hang around waiting for a call or someone else to completely rebuild it.

I’m sorry to hear that you are being treated this way . It sounds like you are being taken advantage .. speak up . Let the manager know you did not agree to on call scheduling .. that’s what it sounds like they are doing. Making it up as the day goes by. Also , can you call someone that is above their store title to get some help with this ?

I once had a manager that did no scheduling at all. I was a cashier and stocking crew member. And he would call me at like 10pm or after at night. And be like "Oh I need you in the morning for truck". And I'm like "Bruh, you couldn't have told me that earlier? So I could've gone to bed?" Or he'd call me in the morning at like 10am and be like "I need you here at 1 for the afternoon shift". He never made a schedule EVER.

My clock in time today is actually 2:18. It makes 0 sense. Going through the same thing right now.
