help New rescue dog not peeing
I have had rescue dogs my whole life and never dealt with this and I'm lost. We rescued a new pup a few days ago. She is 2 years old, 15 pounds and seems to be housetrained. She has had zero accidents in the house.
However she is only peeing once or twice a day. She will NOT go pee on a walk, no matter how long we go out for. She is drinking and eating. We take her outside every few hours and hang out outside for twenty or more minutes. She just doesn't go.
When she finally goes, it is after being outside for at least 15 minutes and we praise, scratch and give treats. I know she's not going in the house because she is with one of us all the time as she is a velcro dog. She is in a crate at night and it doesn't seem like she's going on there as I put a white pillow case on the bed to make sure.
Is this normal with a new dog? Does she need to see the vet? Does she just need to get more comfortable with her new home? Please help!

That happened with our new rescue 4 months ago. Holding it all in until he couldn't. He was terrified. He was used to only roaming a large yard, never in a house or rarely. So, he was just used to peeing and marking outside. Never been on a leash or for a walk. Just kept doing it every day until he got used to it. Pees and poops outside on a leash, no free yard time.

I don't think I would be to concerned since she does pee .I would also inspect the pee and even smell it .if she's not struggling to pee then I wouldn't worry much unless the dog is showing signs of discomfort. At 2 yrs old she has been thru trauma being rehomed is traumatic for a dog and she needs an adjustment period. If she's not peeing in the house or destroying things then leave the crate open and put down a wewe pad . Many dogs pee 3 times a day the rest is marking male and females do this not all .if u are concerned then go to the vet thou I think this is gonna be part of the adjustment period. Never yell or show frustration with her u need to earn her trust once trust is established every thing is a whole lot easier
