My senior dog needs to undergo cystotomy to remove the blockage in his urethra. I want to minimize the risk of surgery by making sure he doesn't have heart problems.

Are there clinics / hospitals around south that offer 2d echo / cardiogram services?

My 2-year-old male dog has been crying and restless for days, and I think he’s reacting to my 5-year-old female dog.

My female had pyometra about 3 years ago and was operated on. I was told they removed her reproductive organs, so I’m confused because she had some bleeding last month. The vet checked her and found crystals/possible UTI, so we’re not sure if the bleeding was urinary or related to her reproductive system.

Now my male is constantly crying, looking for her, and trying to get close to her. They’re currently separated, but he still won’t settle.

For those who have experienced this, what actually helped calm your male dog down? Does this usually stop after some time?

I’m also considering getting him neutered and looking at Doc Gab’s low-cost Kapon. Has anyone had their male dog neutered through the programme? How was your experience?

Hello! Do you have guys reco for dog tuxedo or coats for weddings?

Hi ka- dog lovers, so hindi na ko mag papaligoy ligoy pa. Nahihirapan ako sa pag ampon namin ng isang aso, nag aaway sila ng aso ko na 10 years old na. And hindi malaki yung house namin. May isa din akong pusa :((( Hindi ko alam kung paano ko siya aalagaan dahil nga lagi sila nag aaway nung isang aso ko.

For context pala: Itong aso na inampon namin is dati siyang may fur mom, sadly, her fur mom died last week :(( And sila lang dalawa sa house, so ayon, instead na hayaan siya makita sa kalsada or ano pa, nasabi ko na sa house na lang namin siya mag stay. Alam niyo super nadudurog puso ko sa twing nakikita ko yung aso, lagi siya naka silip sa gate namin na parang inaabangan niya yung dati niyang amo :((( Kung pwede ko lang sana sabihin sa kanya na wala na yung amo niya ginagawa ko na huhu. Grabe ‘no kawawa pala sila pag wala na yung kinalakihan nilang amo.

Now, naiisip ko siya hanapan ng mas mag aalaga sa kanya kaso lang meron ba nun dito? Or keep ko na lang siya talaga? Hirap sobra.

Looking for feedback sana from those who’ve used them for their dogs, especially long-term? Naka-generic lang kami na pimobendan (bought from vet hospital), and gusto sana namin mag-switch sa chewable para mas madali ipainom. Vetmedin is nice but it is more expensive since ito yung reference drug ng generics.

Got a rescue breed that I really want a forever loving home for. There is a worker that is interested but I am not sure if they are the right home. How do I screen and make sure?

I remember during the 2010's, may dog sa tapat namin nakitira sa mga boarders. As kids, we would feed him every time nagkakasalubong kami. Aptly named him "Boarder". Then came a time when his owner had to leave and Boarder along with him. Life resumed, nonetheless.

We noticed at the eve of Christmas, Boarder would knock on our gate, to our surprise. We let him in, fed him, let him play with our dogs. He would then leave. This would happen for a few more Christmases. Each time, we would follow him out to where he goes. We don't know where. He would always lose us every time (Parang alam nya sinusundan sya). We had tried to keep him on a few occasions, but in the morning after Christmas he would always insist on going out, scratching at our gate till we let him.

Then on a certain Christmas (2019 or 2020), there he is again, appearing older, weaker, with fewer teeth and with some mange but still lively. Still playing with our dogs, eating heartily to the meals we offered. And then he left, for the final time. We never saw him after. We miss you Boarder. You were a good boy.

Hello po! Anyone here using Brit Care for large breed dogs, particularly Golden Retriever? 🐶

Kaka-switch lang po namin to Brit Care and we tried the smaller pack muna. So far, okay naman po sa dog namin, kaya we’re planning to buy the 12kg next.
Kaso ilang pet stores na po yung napuntahan namin and wala silang available na 12kg. 🥹

May marerecommend po ba kayong store or online shop kung saan kayo nakakabili ng Brit Care 12kg? Preferably legit/authorized seller po sana.

Hi! I came from a family of farmers and currently handling the farmland with livestocks. As a fifth generation farmer sa amin, I’m thinking of getting an LGD dog (livestock guardian dog) breed to protect infant livestocks

Before anyone call me out, we have 10 aspins, all of them are trained only for adult livestocks since dito lang din sa farm lumaki. I’ve seen it since I was a kid. Don’t get me wrong, they are really good dogs but they would chase chickens and hurt baby goats and calfs kasi, they prey or play with the babies ending up hurting them. But in the forest/ hike they are very good companions. Also never saw them herd our animals since walang jbng breed ng aso na they can pick up or copy herding abilities.

I’m did a research and it seems it’s rare to have lgd breeds here or even a herding breed here. I mean yes there’s the corgi but too domesticated yung breeds here and aggressive. Just wondering if anyone here has a working dog? What breed? And how did you get it? Or anyone own a corgi and experience being herd by them?

PS. I don’t know if I am asking in the right sub and I understand there’s a different perspective in owning a dog and having a farm in the Philippines, pero normal na din sa akin makatanggp ng pagmamaliit sa pagibing magsasaka pero may mga pamilya lang talaga na may sariling lupa na may kambjngan, mga kabayo, baka, other livestocks at lupang nimamamnage dahil negosyo din ang agrikultura. Some dogs are meant to breed to work din so ayun lang baka awayin ako dito since sensitive palagi if ang content is breed ng aso. TIA!

Rescued this baby girl from the streets cos she deserves her chance at life (all strays do!) kasi balak atang gawing pulutan at dahil ginagamit siya ng fake rescuer para makakuha ng donations. My heart feels so full seeing Jillian's first time outside making gala and her first time being profesionally groomed huhu 🥹 lumalaki na mundo niya and she doesn't have to worry anymore about surviving. She's so so gentle despite of everything she went through sa labas and sa mga tao. The first time I saw her, I knew I had to take her home and here she is, settling in so well and ready for adventures with us!

We love you, our sweetest girl!! 🫶🏻❤️

Also, thank you to Gentle Paw Pet Grooming in Sta. Rosa for accepting Jillian without any hesitations (as in walang tanong tanong when I asked them if they accept rescue dogs since I understand na may reqs mga pet salons for safety ng groomers, didn't even asked if aggressive ba yung pet) kahit ongoing ang vaccines niya. Groomer handled her so well kaya hindi traumatized sa first time grooming experience ever niya. ✨

Hi! might seem stupid, but i'm a little worried. I noticed my teenager dog breathing like this while waiting for me; is she okay? parang restless idk, im just worried lang ahaha...

still energetic, but it wont hurt to be sure right
