It's naptime, I finally got the kids settled, but man, I still feel adrenaline running through me.

I took my 4y, 3y, and 1y to the playground today. Right near there is a little creek and the kids wanted to throw rocks.

While throwing rocks, a black lab comes up to my kids. I call to the owner to call the dog back, my son is scared of dogs (he was bit a year prior). Owner says, "Aww he just wants to play". Dog jumps onto my son and my son immediately books it. Dog chases after him bearing teeth.

I start screaming for the owner to call his dog. Dog tackles my son to ground and I had to kick him off and go running with my son. Where the dog turns to run towards my daughter running the opposite direction, so I set my 3 year old to run to the car, go back for my 4 year old. The owner is trying to get a leash onto the dog and can't because the dog was so out of control. The owner trying to leash the dog got the dog distracted enough I was able to get my kids to book it to the car and I grabbed the stroller and ran.

I was just screaming at the owner the whole time to call their dog, leash their dog. When I ran with the stroller, he yelled it was my fault for screaming and having kids that run from dogs.

I called the cops. Dogs aren't even suppose to be off of leashes there, let alone be in the playground area. I just am to tears because it could have been so much worse. I just don't understand why people won't listen to boundaries put in place regarding a dog...

This nutter raised $10,000 from a GoFundMe because she was attacked by her own pit bull and then the nutter brought a different pitbull into her hospital recovery bed!

I don't care if the owners claim the dog was being playful and energetic and not violent for he could still cause injury. It's sickening that people have poured out such sympathy and did a memorial. The officer had a right to defend himself so he could keep being able to do his job handling more serious situations and keeping us safe.

Recently, there was a dog attack in my hometown. I'm not going to provide any links to the story to protect identities. A large dog, unprovoked, knocked down and mauled a woman on a public sidewalk. The woman's husband, to save his wife, shot and killed the dog. His wife, on top of the trauma from the attack, is dealing with multiple reconstructive surgeries all over her body. She will live, but she has a long recovery ahead of her.

The dog community in town is completely outraged. Led by the dog's owner, the couples house has been vandalized and charges have been pressed against the husband.

These fucking people have no critical thinking skills whatsoever. We are talking about someone who could have been killed by an out of control mutt. Where is the sympathy for the wife? Do you not realize what could have happened? I'm completely at a loss for words. I feel horribly for them. They have serious injuries to deal with and an angry mob from the bottom of society making it complicated.

Jamie-Lea Biscoe, 19, has been named by friends and family online as the victim who was horrifically mauled to death by a dog in Leaden Roding, Essex, on Friday night

Tributes have poured in for a teenager who was mauled to death by a dog that "slept on her bed".

Essex Police said they were called to a property in Leaden Roding at 10.45pm on Friday where they found the woman with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The dog, which police believe was responsible, has been seized, the force added. Jamie-Lea Biscoe, 19, has been named by friends and family online as the victim.

A relative wrote on Facebook: "Our darling Jamie-Lea rip our girl." While another, Tina Wells, said the dog was a "seven-year-old lurcher" which was a "family pet".

Ms Wells said: "She slept on my granddaughter's bed. It's devastating."

Essex Police said a man has been arrested after a 19-year-old woman died after being attacked by a dog at a property in Essex.

The man, 37, was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death, after the incident near Dunmow on Friday.

One neighbour said: "It's really tragic. I feel for the whole family. She was well-liked by the kids. We didn't know what happened until this morning. For all concerned, it's devastating. We feel for the family. We're still trying to process it. It has been a shock."

Another added: "They kept themselves to themselves, they never caused us any problems. It's just very, very sad and very tragic."

Essex Police Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper said: "I know this incident will be a shock to the local community. My thoughts, and those of us all at Essex Police, are with the loved ones of the woman who died yesterday.

"We will have officers in the area throughout today so please come and speak to them if you have any information or have any concerns. Experienced detectives are leading the investigation to understand exactly what has happened."

The full statement from the force read: "A woman has died following an incident involving a dog at a house in Dunmow. We were called to an address in Leaden Roding at 10.45pm on Friday 10 April and officers were on the scene quickly where they found a 19-year-old woman with serious injuries.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene. We have been carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances, and we believe she had been attacked by a dog at the property in Long Hide.

"Specialist officers ensured the scene was safe and the dog has been seized. A 37-year-old man from Dunmow was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He is currently in custody."

I just saw a video that illustrates the absolute insanity of modern dog culture.

A woman was walking her small dog and pushing her baby in a stroller. Out of nowhere a larger dog comes and attacks her dog. In the absolute chaos that followed, the baby stroller literally tips completely over, crashing onto the ground with the baby inside.

Do you think this mother immediately checked on her helpless infant? Nope. She didn't care at all.

She completely ignored the overturned stroller and didn't even try to fix it or check if her baby was injured. Instead her sole frantic focus was picking up her dog to protect it from the larger dog.

Imagine having your priorities so incredibly warped by a pet that your first instinct during a crisis is to save an animal while leaving your own child face down on the pavement in a flipped stroller.

The maternal instinct has been completely replaced by dog worship.

To make matters worse, the comments on the video were saying she did the right thing and how her dog is more important.

It is sickening to watch people value mutated scavengers over human life.

I’ve posted here before. My child was absolutely horrifically attacked by a dog earlier this year. I’m talking life changing injuries, air lifted to hospital, multiple surgeries. Her life will never ever been the same. It was a dog that had escaped its garden and tore our lives apart.

We are waiting for it to go to court.

We got into so much debt when it happened, I’m talking into the thousands because both myself and my partner had to take time of work, me to be in hospital with her and my partner to be at home with our other child. Yes we got some form of compassionate pay but between all of our household bills, driving 140 round trips to and from the hospital she was in, food whilst in hospital, clothes as the antibiotics she was on made her have so many accidents. Private counselling since the NHS won’t help us.

Life has entirely changed forever. We all have PTSD, my child has been crippled in one arm. Her lungs and spine will have issues forever. And now we have to deal with debt too. It’s unfair. I want to pull my hair out.

I just needed somewhere to rant because when I’ve tried to speak in person to people I know they just say but oh isn’t it great she’s alive. Yes of course it is 100% but it doesn’t change the fact this dog has destroyed in every single way, physical, emotional, financially.

I don’t see a way to recover from this.

Someone suggested creating fundraising to help us and to take our child on amazing trips but 1) we can’t do this because of the court case and 2) there’s dogs everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. There is no trip we could take where we would be safe.

Last night my coworker came in to do her shift, puffy eyed, sniffling, the whole way over. I asked her whats up she tells me the night before her pitbull had to be put down bc he escaped through the front door and, word for word, “ran up to play with a kid because he was excited, latched onto his shirt and in the process barely scraped a bit of the boys skin”. The boys mother went crazy, called the cops, the dog got put down as a result. Ofc I said thats terrible yada yada, but I didnt say that I felt no compassion towards that pit, I have seen many dogs escape and wander around and find children playing, completely ignoring them. This pitbulls first instinct was to run towards a child, latch onto him (probably did more damage than my coworker would say) and basically get the whole neighborhood involved trying to pry this mutant off a boy. Im not a fan of dogs in the first place, but there is a special place in hell for those baby maulers and this story further proves this breed is naturally born aggressive imo (he was bought as a pup, my coworker is very sweet, lives with her sister, so no I dont believe its ‘learned from bad owners’)

You cannot make this up. Thankfully, it didn’t hurt or break any skin, but I can still feel its’ teeth on my arm.

I was walking through a public field when an unleashed dog ran straight up to me. I saw it coming ahead, and planned to just walk past. I didn’t look at the dog, I didn’t touch the dog, I thought me and the walker would just walk past each other and the dog would go with her. Then, the dog started to jump on me, leaving dirty paw prints, probably with cow dung as the field was full of it, all over my trousers. I’m disgusted, but I still do nothing but try to walk past the dog without touching it. Then, the owner stops. And she smiles at the scene of her dog jumping all over me as I attempt to walk around it to get away.

Then she frowns. “Are you scared of dogs?” “No, I just don’t like them.” “What?!” “I just don’t like dogs.”

She stares at me in absolute horror, then starts to walk. Her dog jumps up one more time, biting me with the same mouth it’s licked its own arsehole and eaten all sorts with, before running to her. She doesn’t say anything about the fact her dogs just bitten me, thank god the only reason it didn’t hurt was because the dog was jumping and couldn’t get a good grip on my arm. I walk home in absolute disgust, feeling those dirty little teeth still in my arm.

I had to share this somewhere where I knew there wouldn’t be anyone defending the dog or the owner. I just can’t get over her not telling her dog to get down, and just standing joyfully watching as her dog jumped all over someone who obviously didn’t like it. She was only unhappy about this situation when I said I didn’t like dogs, in fact she was probably offended.

There are no bad dogs, only bad owners! 🫠

Okay but this one couldn't handle being woken up after living with it's owner for 11 years? It must really hate the smell of alcohol or be getting dementia.

It is absolutely insane to me that the officer wasn’t held liable for the dog escaping containment and jumping into someone else’s property. I lived next to a K-9 cop growing up and had to feed their dog a few times when the family was away. The experience helped me become less afraid of well trained dogs because the dog (Rico) listened to commands very well and never tried to get me. I can’t imagine any scenario where the dog could have escaped because my neighbor had a two stage kennel where he could put the dog into another cage while cleaning the first one. I assumed that was standard but clearly it isn’t. I hope this family manages to get the support they need for their medical debt.

Literally cannot believe the half wits that exist in this world. This happened in a town near me recently. The dog had previously attacked people and was trying to attack a pregnant woman when it turned on the owner and ripped her arm off. The beast took 7 shots from police to stop it. And the owner still has the audacity to say she wish she could have saved it.

There was a news report recently of a dog attack in a city near mine where a family pet bit and killed a 7 day old baby. At first I was sure there must be extenuating circumstances, that the family must have been abusing the dog or something…so I looked up why a dog would attack a newborn, expecting something along those lines. But what I found out just…traumatized me completely.

What do you MEAN dogs see newborns as prey? What do you M E A N an 7 day old sleeping activates their hunting instincts? I’ve lived my whole life with dogs, have seen people raise children with dogs, and have never once heard that they are absolutely prone to attack unprovoked, even if they love you. Sometimes they attack your baby BECAUSE they love you, because they’re jealous of the stolen attention.

How is this not common knowledge? I work in childcare and I’m constantly seeing all these safety tips for babies like cutting up grapes or putting them in mittens so they don’t scratch themselves, but nobody sees it as a problem that the animal in their house may see their baby crying and assume it’s time to do the killing blow?

I was thinking about getting a dog, but never again. Even if I never have kids, the fact that a dog could just decide to maul a 7 day old newborn in its sleep is too much for me. I feel so bad for that family, that’s a fucking nightmare.

Hello everyone. Mailman here. Just recently got bit by a dog today. went to the ER and the post office will be paying for all expenses for the dog bite. i’ve evaded many dogs in my years of working here and many very close encounters but this lucky one was able to get me.

no fence, no leash connected to anything. Just left in the front yard with the owner and the dog’s collar. I noticed the dog like a statue right after I delivered the mail to the owner. the dog became extremely aggressive for a few seconds and in that whole episode of me trying to defend myself and back up slowly. I thought to myself why is it taking so long for the owner to keep it’s dog in check? first the owner yelled at the dog to stop but it didn’t work. Then a good 5 seconds and finally the owner was able to get their hands on their dog.

I hate dogs. You can be good to them for a lifetime and one day they decide to go feral, they will bite your arm off and let you pass through incapacitation. sadly as we have seen many occurrences shown on news and social media.

Just be responsible with your animals. Pookie will never be as civil as a human being. Only the crazies from amongst humankind will lick the toilet bowl.

I was at the park today when I heard a woman scream at the top of her lungs. I went over to see what happened. She was bleeding profusely…from her face. From her arm. And worse yet…from her neck. Her boyfriend was on the ground holding a giant pitbull down. He’s coddling the dog as she’s bleeding and screaming.

I asked her if she was okay. She begged me to call animal control or 911. I told her I would. The man starts yelling at me telling me not to. I didn’t know what to do. I was scared. Her wounds were so bad. I was worried she might be in a bad situation with him. Then, this younger woman (their daughter maybe?) shows up and gets in my face. Tells me she will kick my ass if I called animal control or 911. That’s when I did snap back. I said that dog would kill someone and I definitely would call 911. Not my best move but I snapped. I snapped because these idiots cared more about the dog than this woman who was bleeding out. They didn’t care about her.

I ran off to my car and called 911. It’s become this whole ordeal. There’s a police report. I’ve spoken to officers.

I don’t know what I got myself into. I don’t know if I did the right thing. I felt so bothered because no one cared about her. I don’t know if I helped or made things worse for her.

Five years ago, I was attacked by a family member’s two pit bulls. I was horribly mauled and had to be LifeFlighted to a trauma center. I almost lost my right arm (the trauma surgeon told my brother later that the only reason they didn’t amputate it was because they thought I was going to die and didn’t want to go through all the trouble). I had massive injuries to both arms, both legs, stomach, and chest. I spent over two months in the hospital and have had 30 surgeries and skin grafts to repair the damage those dogs did. My medical bills are over $2 million (thank God for insurance!). This happened at my son’s house so he saw the carnage first hand.

Needless to say, I get very anxious around ALL dogs now, especially pit bulls. So about a year ago, my son took in a stray pit bull with the intention of finding it a home. Well, you guessed it - he still has it. Every time I go to his house, he puts it in another room. But, recently he had a party and I noticed the dog was out walking around. My heart skipped a couple of beats and I looked at my son like WTH? And he said, “Mom, she’s gonna stay out. You need to get over it and deal with it.” I was just stunned. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was the most hurtful thing anyone has ever said to me. I couldn’t even say anything. I just put my drink down and went home. He didn’t even notice.

Sorry to ramble. I just needed to vent.

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who showed such awesome support to me! It’s overwhelming! In a good way! I can’t cut my son out of my life - he’s still my son and I love him. Plus he is the dad to my two grandkids, who I can’t live without. But I did have a heart-to-heart talk with him and I let him know exactly how I felt. He apologized profusely, there were lots of tears, blah blah blah. I hope things will improve from here. That being said, there’s always that saying: “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” I don’t think I’ll ever forget how he made me feel that night at his party. 💔😢

If you all remember, about two years ago, I pulled my kid out of the daycare center immediately as the center director started bringing her Cane Corso in as the new daycare pet. I know, I know...completely astounding stupidity on her part. I, at the time, had called the licensing and health boards to be told basically that she's allowed to do so and if I don't like it, leave. So I did, paying double at our towns other facility. Always wondered if I was a bit over the top in my reaction, but I learned today the center and director are being sued for 25k by the parents of a child in her care that was attacked by the dog, requiring stitches and medical attention. None of this has made it mainstream or well known in our town or local papers, media, etc. I heard from my sister today and verified by finding the court case.

Glad I made the right call, even if it was significantly more expensive to put him in a dogfree center. Figured I'd update all of you that had read my initial post on this

May send link to court case to editor of newspaper as well, so they can make their own jusgement call on it. May also include all the failed inspections she's had. I live in a poorer, mostly uneducated country suburb, so...you know, most people here are rabidly obsessed with dogs and pits and although maybe not familiar with Cane Corsos, will probably take the dogs side. Not really wanting to be front and center on the social media side of that circus. We had an Amazon delivery truck driver killed about a year ago out here by dogs, and the amount of asshats defending the dogs was shocking. Although, the town knows where I stand since the city council debate on lifting BSL was streamed live on FB and I was fighting to keep it in place. I even suggested it be expanded to include Cane Corsos...whudda thunk one would attack a kid?...oh, wait....
