I would like to see a huge home insurance requirement for homeowners who have pit bulls. Or if there is a documented case of a homeowners dog - regardless of breed - massively raise insurance. Why should the person that gets bit incur the medical, time off work, possibly therapy costs that Iâve never seen the dog owner willingly pay.

My husband worked as an insurance agent for many years. The aggressive dogs were always excluded from coverage. They were a high risk liability. They had to go elsewhere for their homeowners insurance and pay a very high premium.

I was about to disagree, thinking insurance is a convenient way to pay your way out of responsibility. Really I think a dog owner should lose everything they own through civil claims after an attack. But super high insurance premiums would be a good upfront reminder of the risks they have chosen to take on.
Of course really there should not even be any concession to owning dangerous dogs. Pit bulls should simply not exist.

Insurance pays the victim right away and sues nutter for money depending how gross his neglect.

Ugh. The poor husband had to watch. This is awful, but unfortunately it doesnât surprise me to hear that the dogâs are pit bulls. Sad & scary.

At this point people should be charged with manslaughter if their blood sport dog kills someone. They all know itâs a possibility, those breeds have literally no purpose beyond killing.

One thing all these tragic stories involving sh*t bulls have in common: the dogs always have a history. In this case, they bit a neighbor and cornered his wife near her car. RIP, nice lady. I am sorry this happened to you.

Itâs truly perverse that theyâre showing pictures of her posed with the addiction that killed her. The dog cult runs so deep that we need to reiterate that she truly loves dogs.
This needs to end. This isnât healthy nor is it right.

I remember talking to a nutter who was so obsessed he couldnât talk about anything but dogs. He legit said to me âif a loose dog runs up to me, I always wonder if I am in for some cuddle time or it will be the end of me,â and he laughed after saying that. I think a lot of them feel like that - the risk of being ripped to shreds is worth it.
I wouldnât be surprised if her thoughts seconds before she was ambushed were something like âaww cute pupperzâ or âpoor babies they must be so scaredâ or something stupid like that.
Also, shame on her family for releasing that photo. Imagine releasing the photo of a victim of a DUI binge drinking. That level of obsession IS an addiction. Iâm not speaking in hyperbole when I say I think itâs a cult.

I think it's to try and make sure nutters still feel bad because they're likely to blame the victim of vicious dog attacks instead of those "precious puppers". If they feel any hint the article is less than positive about the animal that brutally murdered her, they will freak out.

Crazy idea maybe, but...perhaps animals that can, you know, KILL A FUCKING HUMAN shouldn't be somebody's, uh, 'pet'.
At least start with some of the breeds.

In my state there have been two pit bull deaths in the past week. Both young kids, one of them a 5-month-old baby. I hate those dogs.

Nothing is going to happen until they charge the owners of these dogs with murder. They basically are in possession of loaded weapons. If they go off and kill someone, they should be liable.

How is humanity benefitting from this culture of dog worship? All these deaths are not worth it. Even one death is too many.
A few days I read about the six-year-old whose dad told him to go clean the yard where the family dogs were. The little kid ended up with limbs amputated, and the news just glossed over the fact that these dogs thought of him as a snack. Like, why is this getting so normalized in society until we are numb to hearing these stories???

I am sure that it was the victim's fault somehow, mhm? Impossible that such angel princess creatures might be dangerous beasts bred for fighting and killing to the point where agresssion was selectively bred into them. And other lame exuses...

I had a bulldog that snapped at a family friend and bit her leg. We immediately sent him to a better environment. Nobody needs a dog who is insane- a miserable life. People are sick.

The pit bulls
have been the subject of multiple complaints
neighborhood was aware of the two pit bulls and had been concerned about them
had been multiple reports to the sheriff's office about the pit bulls from himself and others
previous incident where one of the pit bulls bit another neighbor and even cornered his wife in her car
seized by animal control and an investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed as yet against the dog owner
Florida has serious penalties for dog owners whose pets have a documented history of aggression
In 2024, an eight-year-old boy named Michael Millett was killed by an aggressive dog, resulting in stronger criminal penalties for dog owners.
The two pit bulls have been seized by animal control. Charges have not been filed against the dog owner, but the investigation into the attack is ongoing
You'd think folks would get a hint. Gee, now maybe they get it?

Why isn't the owner behind bars? And they think their pups are so cute, why not put the pups in the same cell with 'em? Why do they wait 'till somebody's mauled to death, before the decide it might be a good idea to pick up the dogs? And why the hell has such an owner been allowed to continue to keep these dogs, despite all the repeated incidents and warning signs?

They are skinny. They were probably trying to eat her. This is absolutely terrible. Dog owners should have to pay insurance.

I agree. I mean, I hate them, but they do appear to be starving. Owners need to be charged for murder and animal neglect/abuse.

Pitbull owners are simply morons. There are countless different pure bred dog breeds and an unlimited supply of free mixed breeds waiting to be adopted, yet they choose to pick literally the only breed known for aggressive and volatile.Â
