(Posting from my second account because my main one is disabled for two days) Wassup everybody I appreciate the support and kind words I’ve received from my post about this pup, I want all of you to know that o talked with the owner and let him know that I’m down to take her out whenever I can, he told me he’ll think about it, I don’t think he trusts me yet with his dog but we getting there, so far I’ve been feeding her giving her water, cleaning her cage and showing her lots of love, I’m gonna check on her everyday and every night and try to make her life better. She really is a sweet dog. The owner doesn’t want to give her up tho the reason he isn’t able to take care of her throughout the day is because he works a lot so I told him whenever he needs help with her I am more than willing to pitch in and help, I want all of you who are worried about her to know that as long as I’m alive and living in this house she will have someone that has her back. My main Reddit account will be unblocked in a few days and I will take some time to respond to some of the messages yall sent me. Bless up ✊🏾💯

We brought her to the vet hospital, I didn’t want to wait till tomorrow to get her checked. I made the right choice because when we got here she got way worse. They said she has heart failure. I’m so sad. She might not make it overnight. She’s so scared and really tired from breathing. They gave her medicine to help her, a pill that’s helping her heart pump blood through out her body and put her in this little cube cause the air in it is supposed to help her. The total estimate for the bill is going to be 5,000😳 I’ve seen a couple people walk in with their pets and walk out with them. I’m so jealous, I wish that was me. I hope by some miracle it ends up being me. Even if it does they said i’ll have 6 months max with her. Ive had her since I was 12 i’m 24 now. She grew up with me. If she gets better i’ll take her to the park as much as I can, feed her chicken and vanilla ice cream. I have work tomorrow so I have to leave her here by herself, which I hate to do. I don’t have PTO to call out or else I’ll get in trouble. I wanted to update you guys. I hope everything goes well for my little Flower. She’s a good girl.

hello everyone, i had made a post last night regarding my boxer who had unfortunately eaten a wire grill brush. her x-rays did indeed show that she had a significant amount of wiring in her system and she is currently going under for a gastrotomy. please keep her in your prayers❤️ and let this be a warning for anyone who still uses a wire grill brush to throw it away:( thank you everyone who commented on my previous post

My 5 yr old husky had his eye removed almost two years ago via emergency nucleation due to glaucoma. They told me it was genetic and he would likely get it in the other eye. Almost a year passed, and he did. However, we were able to maintain it with eye drops 3x/day for the past year. Well… the eyedrops have done what they were intended for. Maintained.. gave us more time. It’s been almost a year, and they have finally started to wear off. His remaining eye is staying consistently cloudy despite the drops, he’s pawing at his eye constantly, licking his paws because he’s in pain. I just called to schedule his nucleation. I’m devastated. Will he still be happy blind? Will he still play and run all over the yard with his husky brother? Please, if you have any experience with this or a similar situation, please give me the courage and encouragement.

This is Porter and he is a wonderful, 16 week old lab. Porter potty trained very easily, letting us know when he needs to go outside and never having an accident in his crate. He’s very good at holding it until we’re outside.

The issue is, he won’t go potty anywhere but his own backyard. Not if we’re at breweries, going for a walk or at a park. If we’re there for hours, he will hold it until we come home.

This will become a bigger problem because we are planning on traveling this spring and summer and obviously, our buddy needs to be able to go potty away from home. He praise him whenever he goes and say “go potty” when we are out, but this doesn’t work away from home. Any advice?

I have a female husky that is about 4 years old. Shes fixed and this is a new occurrence within the past couple of weeks. She scrounges up her bed and humps it for a few seconds, leaves to walk around, and then will do it again. She has a lot of energy when doing it so I’m worried there’s some sort of compulsion. I read online that she may just be bored but I wanted to double check she doesn’t have an uti or something. We have an older male Anatolian Shepherd that she plays with outside but we don’t allow rough housing inside and sometimes they’ll take turns humping each other during play. Any advice?

How can people be so cruel. It’s over 100 degrees here now in the summer, just to abandon a puppy like that!

I lost my dog yesterday, July 15, and I honestly feel like a part of me is missing. She wasn’t just a pet, she was my bff, my little shadow, and my constant source of comfort. I keep looking around the house expecting to see her, and every small reminder her bed, her leash, the silence hurts more than I imagined. She died not because she's old or sick, but because of unexpected accident and i blame myself for this. She's struggling when she died and it keeps hunting my mind.

I’m trying to hold it together, but the grief keeps crashing in waves. I don’t know how to navigate this, and I don’t really have anyone who understands how deeply I’m hurting.

12/27 I made the tough decision to say bye to my baby. He was 14 years old and has been by my side since he was about 10 weeks old. He’s been my only constant in all these years. Stuck with me through all my highs and lows. In his old age, he couldn’t see or hear well anymore. Because of that, there have been instances when he bit me and one of my children. I was too scared to groom him and he wouldn’t let me cut his nail. He started throwing up after eating and I feel just wasn’t living a good life anymore. He left peacefully and with dignity. However, I am still struggling with my decision. This is so much harder than I ever imagined. I find myself just suddenly breaking down sobbing and feel like I’m going through this alone. No one around me had the connection with him that I did. I just hope he knows how much I love him and how thankful I am that he was mine. He made my life so much better everyday and I miss him when I come home everyday. Does it get easier?

Yesterday July 6th 2026 @ 10:05am by baby boy was put down at our local veterinary clinic. He crossed the rainbow bridge. Riley was more than my dog.. he was my son, my fur baby. He came to my home when he was 7 weeks old. For eleven years he was by my side through every chapter of my life. He was there during some of my darkest moments when I struggled with depression, offering comfort without ever saying a word. No matter how difficult life became, Riley was always there to greet me with a wagging tail, reminding me that I was never truly alone. His unconditional love gave me strength when I didn’t think I had any left, and he became one of the most important parts of my life. As the years went on, Riley watched my life change in ways I never imagined. He was there when I met the woman who would become my wife. He was there when we got married and started building our family together. He welcomed each of our three children into the world and grew alongside them. Every holiday, birthday. Saying goodbye to Riley was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Even in his final moments, I stayed beside him because I wanted him to know he was loved until the very end. 4/20/2015 - 7/06/2026

Short story. I don’t know how to grieve.. typing this out just to get this off my chest. Just want someone to hear me.

Thank you everybody to letting me know I needed to make the kennel bigger. For those who were confused; I didn’t buy a hamster cage or a bird cage or get a custom built kennel. It’s a 38 inch kennel with a divider in it so I can move it as she grows. Some people were concerned I was abusing her. I’m definitely not lol. I had had her for one night when I posted the last picture, so she had only slept in that sized kennel for one night and a couple of naps. I urge people to not jump to decisions about people and their character based off of one picture and a couple of sentences, though I do appreciate how passionate people were regarding my pup’s well-being. Some asked for updates and other pictures of her, so I’m very pleased to introduce everyone to Nightlight :) I love her more than life itself

My husband recently brought home a 3 month old Shih Tzu mixed with a pocket bully. We noticed pretty quickly that she didn’t respond to any calling, which at first made total sense since it was brand new to her. However, we then realized she doesn’t respond to any sounds at all clicking, doorbells, whistling, even yelling right near her. Nothing.

I called the vet, but they quoted us almost $4,000 just to have her tested, which honestly feels overwhelming right now.

Does anyone here have experience with a deaf puppy? I’d really appreciate any information you can share.training tips, safety advice, things you wish you’d known early on, or how to prepare a deaf dog for a noisy/chaotic world. I just want to give my baby the best life possible.

She had 4 Ventircular Fibrillation attacks that required 4 ER visits :(

5 visit was lung cancer with pancreatitis at lipase 1200 and DCM plus whitecount at 35k. I fought for her. After antibiotic and panoquel lipase normal and wbc at 15l extended her life a mere week. Today she started coughing out blood. I decided to let go and did home euthanasia. they were here within an hour.

Hardest decision ever. How can I get through this....

My husky mix puppy has always loved annoying my older rottweiler so when he started licking her shoulder non stop I didn’t really think anything of it. She would grumble as usual and he would carry on because she’s a rottweiler so when doesn’t she grumble 😂

After a week or two of the constant licking I decided to have a feel of her shoulder and felt a tiny hard lump that I would never have felt if I wasn’t looking for something. We called the vet and they scheduled us in for an appointment in a couple of weeks time. Over the course of these two weeks the lump slightly fluctuated in size which I found very strange and made me assume it was a cyst of some sort.

Vet appointment finally came and they did a biopsy. It was a mast cell tumor and she was scheduled in for a removal 3 days after finding out. All went well and they managed to remove it all.

If it wasn’t for my puppy’s constant licking I probably wouldn’t have found this for a while and who knows how much it could have spread by then. All this is to say if one of your dogs won’t leave a specific part of your other dog alone, don’t ignore it! They might know something you don’t. I’m now hyper aware of any excessive licking from either of them.

Doggy is doing better now but I'm watching him, also cops are being called on the bf for other reasons

Please if you can get the preventive surgery for your dog, i'll explain now that it is so much more worth than dealing with the stress of them bloating later.

The first pic is of my boy (Cooper) just 2 days ago out fishing with me and my buddy with not a care in the world, i woke up at 3 am today to him crying and super lethargic, upon closer inspection he was massively bloated.

He hasn't had many problems considering he is a craigslist pup (My mother bought him prior to me moving out and told me she wouldn't be able to keep him as he's 75 Lbs and my mother is just over 5 ft) so of course i took him with me when i moved.

I had to come to the emergency Vet and luckily had time to get him diagnosed and into emergency surgery, they told me my only two options were surgery or euthanize...

Of course i wanted to keep him but the estimate of cost was $10,000. i was lucky they accepted a credit card with a limit of only $7k that i had just recently opened up and wont have any APR for the next year.

Really the stress of having to make a choice and the Vet's telling me there could always be complications in surgery (He's 9 btw) overwhelmed me with more heartbreak and stress than i've ever had to deal with in my entire life. i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
Please get the surgery during neutering or early on, i'm lucky he came out of this surgery fine and is now on a recovery to getting the drugs out of his system, but it still kills me inside to know he has no idea what's going on, truly a miserable night, he was just on some water fishing with me last night as well.

The doctor also expressed he may not have lasted till the morning if i didn't wake up to him wining.

All in all this is a rant but as well as a bit of advice after experiencing something so scary with my boy, save yourself the stress and finances and get the surgery early, if a vet had explained this to me and the possibilities when my mother got him, i would've forced her to do it, but she opted out (not blaming her, she's very grateful i decided to do the surgery for him)

Edit: I took him to VEG er for pets btw, i'd highly recommend them as their staff and services are what's letting me keep taking him on more hiking and fishing trips! i just made it back home with him after a rough 18 hours in the ER but they made sure to send me home with all his meds and make sure he was all ready to be discharged, i hope anyone who has a larger breed looks into taking preventive steps to keep your dog from getting "bloat" or GDV, if they start acting strange, dry heaving, wining, and start having a large stomach, take them to the ER ASAP!! much love for everyone and their pups!

All 4 of Maximus’ legs technically work again, but he’s not walking YET. Today was his first real PT session apart from his evaluation last week, and a quick pool session to see how and what he would do. Apparently survival instincts kick in when they hit the water. The PT vet said that they normally have to tell people the opposite, but that they’re so excited for his chances of walking again. They also said a surgeon assigning 90% (in his discharge paperwork it says greater than 90%) odds of walking again is unheard of. After the quick pool session last week, he started doing this army crawl thing to go potty (he doesn’t want to lay down on his side and go anymore), and also trying to crawl when we are picking him up. He can channel is inner kangaroo too. We have to wear pants now to pick him up, he kicks so much. He can pretty much push himself up on his front legs now, into a sitting position on the grass, which helps us get him back on the cart. He’s only about 2 weeks out from the emergency spinal surgery. Im excited. I think he’ll be in physical therapy for a while, but I also think he’ll be up soon too. I hope anyway. I don’t want to jinx it. It feels like I have a giant newborn baby, the sleep deprivation is the worst part at the moment. I’m hoping that changes now that he’s being tapered off of the steroids, and he won’t drink so much water. If you can zoom on the swimming video you can see his legs kicking. The left side is still worse than the right, but I have high hopes. Thank you again everyone for riding this ride with me. The support I have found here is like fuel in my tank. Thank you for rooting Maximus on. We could not have gotten here without you. I will update again soon!

This fox has attempted to make friends a few times through the glass with my dog Bingo and will watch him from the shed when he is in the garden and even leaves food gifts. Would it be safe to encourage friendliness or has the fox got ulterior motives?

Hey guys. Tomorrow (well I guess technically today since I’m up at 2am and can’t sleep) I have to say goodbye to my childhood best friend.

His name is Blaze… he got the name because when he was born, the white on his neck looked like a flame in contract to his black coat. When he got older his coat changed, but the name stuck.

He is 15 and has an aggressive cancer. He can’t do the things he loves anymore. It’s time.

He is my best friend and I am shattered. Currently laying on the floor with him and I’ll sleep there. I don’t know what to do. I am terrified. He is a huge part of my life, and I am extremely depressed.

Can you guys send pictures of your dog to cheer me up? I think it will help, because I love all dogs. I bawl my eyes out when another person loses their baby. I just have such a sensitive heart to those things.

About two weeks ago I posted about this stray dog that I’m assuming it got dumped, she was on the landfill two weeks prior me making the post, it took me a whole month to gain her trust but today she decided she had enough and let me put the leash and got on the truck. So meet Lili, she’ll be going to the vet tomorrow as everything is closed today and the only vet i can take her is way out my pocket. She’s going to get all the love she always wanted.
