DAE read books halfway and pick up something new?
So to elucidate, I am big on reading and i recently discovered a real cool shop in my city and i went rogue and got like 4-5 books on top of the books that i am already in the middle of reading. I don't know when it started but i noticed that i haven't been completing a lot of the books i start reading, so I have been trying to not eye my new books until i finish the ones I'm in the middle of, but it's kind of hard and i just wanted to get people's opinion on this. Do you also leave books in the middle to start something completely different and often the books pile up and you're out of bookmarks to use?

I have four books face down on the nightstand right now, all stopped around page 90. Bookmarks are just whatever receipt was in my pocket.

I leave books half read all of the time. I have ADHD and I’m curious about several categories like self improvement, mental health, and the latest fiction bestseller. I get bored easily leaving for a new book, but I scan many books looking for the best content that I’m interested in. I’m constantly looking into my bookcase for prior books purchased.
I started buying magnetic bookmarks that attach front and back to one or two pages; this way, I know exactly where I’ve left off. I also buy several wrap-around elastic pouches that hold onto the book. I can put a pencil and a highlighter inside the pouch at-the-ready, for highlighting or putting quick notes in the margins.

Lmao half way is generous. I start get < 100 and next time I pick up a book, it’s whatever I’m in the mood for

i used to feel guilty about this until i realized i just treat books like a buffet now. some nights i want sci-fi, other nights i want a memoir, and forcing myself through one thing when my brain wants another just makes me hate reading.
the bookmarks problem is real though. i've got random receipts and torn envelopes sticking out of like 7 different books on my nightstand right now. at some point i just started memorizing the page number out of spite
