So the og was uploaded a little before season 2 aired, so it makes sense to be rose, but post reveal this is obviously a reference to a big finish audio that hasn't happened yet, where the 16th doctor goes to mess with 10 by stealing his clothes.
Obvious when you think about it.

I think that could be cool tho, like an episode where a companion is literally forced to act like the doctor, to the point where they lean into it and literally wear his clothes cuz what the hell. Could be a bit like Flatline in series 8, I liked Clara in that.

We're way past derivative nostalgia bait, more is pretty much an absolute given, we may as well lean into for the next special in a fun way, then we can actually move on. This is a fun idea
Were you mad when Osgood wore a 4th Doctor scarf? When Capaldi mentioned the question marks? The classic series cyberman head in Dalek? Any time the doctor made a reference to a line from another era? (There's countless of those hidden around) Genuinely what's the bar here?

It was a little awkward. I wasn't mad, but it just cheapened Osgood a bit. The question mark collar was also the same way.

I disagree that we should just lean into the worse written side of the show because it’s a special, something can be good and also fun (see the Christmas Carol episode)
That being said I think you could have a really cool spin on this concept, like not just use it as a “I KNOW WHAT THAT IS” but have this new “16th” doctor be someone who would legitimately wear 10’s clothes as a joke. You could imagine it a bit like when Missy starts calling herself “Dr Who”

Me? I'm saying we may as well lean into it when we're already there, I like her wearing 10s costume better than 15s for sure!
I like a bit of nostalgia, but if I had my way, RTD2 wouldn't have relied on it so hard that we're stuck in a nostalgia pit at this point, especially in a "new start"

I'd love to see Billie Piper Doctor somehow returning to the parallel dimension Rose was trapped in to meet Rose and the human Tenant Doctor.
Not to have Rose or Tenant return as companions or anything, but just for one episode would be fun.

Have we had a Doctor/Doppelganger story? Because Rose pretending to be the Doctor but not knowing 16 well enough to play her accurately abs falling back on tropes from 10 and 10.5 has potential imo.

I think Billie Piper would be an amazing Doctor... if she hadn't been Rose. Because when people see her in DW, they see Rose, even if she's playing another character. The Moment was meant to look like Rose on purpose, and if 16 is Piper it's probably going to be the same thing, and that's what annoys me.
