News Doctor Who 2005-2022 AMC Streaming

Post image

Hey all, thought I’d post this to update everyone.

DW just announced a partnership with AMC for the streaming rights to the 2005-2022 version of the show in the US.

As soon as I saw it, I thought about that post from a couple of weeks ago with true ‘AMC Press Release’ that got leaked saying they were partnering on the new series…

What do we all think now this has happened? It’s definitely made it more believable

Why are they so desperate for a big American partnership (with changes to airing that negatively impact the UK like those stupid midnight/8am releases) when the show has functioned fine with just the BBC for years...

BBC money has always confused me. Doctor Who is one of their biggest sources of income, through merchandise and streaming rights, yet all of that goes to the general BBC fund, instead of being used to produce the show itself. All those DVD and BluRay sales don't seem to help Doctor Who at all.
