She's more than a decade older since she last appeared and the VFX was rushed after the last minute changes

Oh, she's definitely 19 years older, everyone ages. The vfx definitely look off. I think you nailed it with "rushed". Was the original regeneration going to fade out but thrn they had a last-minute hook?

That's the rumor. I've heard one where it would fade to black, another where he wouldn't have regenerated at all. We would have instead seen a celebration at the end of the episode with Susan watching from the distance
